This is a Bostonian Scale model. There are specific rules for these models from Flying Aces Club and you can find the rules on their site. One of the main rules is the fuselage must be able to contain a imaginary box with dimensions of 1.5”x2.5”x3”. This give the Bostonian models a caricature/cartoon looking model.
Be careful not to build this too heavy. My first build I used too much balsa in the cowling. I redrew the plan to show less balsa in the cowling. These models will fly and look great in the air. So if you’re looking for something different give this one a try.
CONSTRUCTION:
WING: The wing is limited to a 3” chord so this wing is built using a cracked rib method. I encourage you to take the spar measurements from the profile view of the fuselage. Add the turbulator strips to fill out the front upper roundness of the airfoil. Don’t forget to add the dihedral!
FUSELAGE: The fuselage box and former construction is used for this little gem. Once the box is built add the cowling and then stringers from the cowling back to just behind the cockpit. Use your imagination to trim out this little beauty and have fun flying her.

You won't find anything in the FAC Rulebook or website about "Bostonians," because it is not an FAC event.

My apologies, the rules for Bostonian plans were found on the AMA sight for Indoor Free Flight. Here's the link and the Bostonian rules are under the "22" section page 12.

Notes
* Credit field
The Credit field in the Outerzone database is designed to recognise and credit the hard work done in scanning and digitally cleaning these vintage and old timer model aircraft plans to get them into a usable format. Currently, it is also used to credit people simply for uploading the plan to a forum on the internet. Which is not quite the same thing. This will change soon. Probably.
Scaling
This model plan (like all plans on Outerzone) is supposedly scaled correctly and supposedly will print out nicely at the right size. But that doesn't always happen. If you are about to start building a model plane using this free plan, you are strongly advised to check the scaling very, very carefully before cutting any balsa wood.
