J4F-1 Amphibious Rescue (Grumman USCG J4F-1). Free flight scale model for rubber power. Wingspan 30 in.
Discontinued kit from Dumas.
Quote: "J4F-1 Amphibious Rescue. Kit No 328. FUSELAGE:
1. REAR FUSELAGE FRAME: Build the Rear Fuselage Frame directly over the 'REAR FUSELAGE LAYOUT -SIDE VIEW' by pinning down and cementing the 1/8 sq longerons, 1/8 sq and the 1/16 x 1/8 uprights, and B7 in position. You need to make two frames NOTE: You will need to laminate and cement together two B7's before you cement it in place.
2. When the two fuselage frame sides are dry, make sure that they are exact, then pin them directly over the 'REAR FUSELAGE LAYOUT -TOP VIEW'. NOTE: The bottom edge of the frame will be sticking up in the air when positioned properly
3. Pin down and cement the 1/8 sq and the 1/16 x 1/8 cross braces between the two side frames, and most importantly, the 1/8 x 1/4 wood strip in the center. This will support the Rudder later on.
4. After the assembly has dried, remove the fuselage frame form your building board.
5. Turn the Fuselage Frame over, then pin them directly over the 'REAR FUSELAGE LAYOUT - BOTTOM VIEW'. Pin down and cement the 1/8 sq cross braces between the two side frames, NOTE: Pin the square front section first. Let Dry. Loosen the front section, then rock the fuselage down, and pin down the rear triangle section.
6. Remove the fuselage frame from your building board.
7. Cement B5 to the fuselage frame. NOTE: B5 must be even with the outside surface of the frame. B5 will support the plastic wheel later on.
8. Cement B6 to the rear portion of the fuselage frame. NOTE: B6 must be even with the outside surface of the frame. B6 will support the Stabilizer Brace later on..."

Notes
* Credit field
The Credit field in the Outerzone database is designed to recognise and credit the hard work done in scanning and digitally cleaning these vintage and old timer model aircraft plans to get them into a usable format. Scaling
This model plan (like all plans on Outerzone) is supposedly scaled correctly and supposedly will print out nicely at the right size. But that doesn't always happen.
