Quote: "Steve n Mary, Here is my hand drawn copy of Don Srull's Skipper... I made my own drawing to submit. I hope you will post it for others to enjoy. I built my first Skipper in the early 2000's. It was powered by the suggested HighLine Mini-6 motor and guided by a Hitec 3 ch transmitter and GWS receiver, servos and esc. I later replaced the motor with a small GWS geared motor. Even with small nicads, performance was greatly improved. It flew very well, but eventually went the way of all things.
As R/C technology advanced I built another Skipper. It was so successful that I submitted it to Frank Fanelli and he published my article and pictures in the June 2012 issue of FM under the title "Skipper Revisited". With an 18-11 2000KV 10g motor, 6g ESC, 2S 300mAh Lipo and micro receiver it is a 115g model that flys much bigger than itself. After more than 14 years, I still fly it regularly and I still enjoy it so much that I want to share. I hope to soon make plans of my updated version of Don's excellent design to share here. I wasn’t a subscriber to FM, but my dentist was and this issue was in the waiting room.
The model became my first foray into the world of electrics. Three decades ago, equipment wasn’t what it is today and it was probably heavy. I swapped in a PeeWee .020 and it was a hot little model albeit a little rudder sensitive.

Notes
* Credit field
The Credit field in the Outerzone database is designed to recognise and credit the hard work done in scanning and digitally cleaning these vintage and old timer model aircraft plans to get them into a usable format. Currently, it is also used to credit people simply for uploading the plan to a forum on the internet. Which is not quite the same thing. This will change soon. Probably.
Scaling
This model plan (like all plans on Outerzone) is supposedly scaled correctly and supposedly will print out nicely at the right size. But that doesn't always happen. If you are about to start building a model plane using this free plan, you are strongly advised to check the scaling very, very carefully before cutting any balsa wood.
