Azulykit with its muffled Fox 15 engine, is a solution to pollution, 'as you like it.' Its small size and quiet power make it ideal for schoolyard flying, so there's no need to drive to a distant flying field. It could be your answer to the energy crisis. It's a great flying Sunday performer designed by Bill Harris to be simple, quick, and a pleasure to build.

Construction: You may begin with either wing or fuselage, whichever you enjoy building least. I love to build wings, so I always start with the fuselage, which leaves me something to look forward to!

Fuselage: Begin by cutting out bulkheads F-1 and F-2 from 1/8 plywood. Trace parts to be cut onto translucent material which can be cut out and used as a pattern. You may also trace onto the wood directly from plans with carbon paper or a seamstress' tracing wheel.

Bend 1/8 wire landing gear as shown on plans and lay it on F-2 in the position indicated. Mark F-2 for ten holes (for binding with the copper wire which holds on the landing gear ). Remove gear and drill F-2, as marked, with a 1/16 bit. Bind gear to bulkhead with soft wire or sew with strong nylon thread. Glue with slow-drying epoxy. Set aside and cut the balsa bulkheads plus the 1/8 x 1/4 strips which make up into the aft two fuselage formers.

Cut fuselage sides from 1/8 sheet balsa. Be sure to cut slot for stabilizer. Lay the sides on a piece of 1/32 plywood and mark fuselage doublers for cutting. This thin plywood can be cut with a razor knife or sharp scissors. Don't use the good family scissors, however, or you'll find Azulykit sleeping with you in the dog house! Now bolt your engine onto the motor mounts, first marking the holes and drilling for 4-40 bolts with blind mounting nuts underneath. Note right thrust in engine. You now have a 'solid state' power module which can't get misaligned, as so often happens with mounts when fastened to the fuselage before engine installation. White-glue or epoxy motor mounts (with engine installed) to bulkheads F-1 and F-2. Align parts carefully and use enough glue..."
