To reduce the dihedral and keep the fuselage length as short as possible, I opted for a swept-wing geometry. For ease of transport, the wing is designed to be detachable at the center; it features a simple trapezoidal planform to simplify rib fabrication. The tail surfaces are also swept to harmonize with the wing's shape.

Apart from the smaller receiver battery (300 mAh), no special micro-components are required for the RC setup. In principle, any servo no taller than 30 mm can be used; I recommend Graupner C-341 or Hitec HS-80 servos, as they are small and very lightweight. Any receiver no wider than approx. 23 mm is suitable; if necessary, the fuselage can be built wider to accommodate a larger one. Some parts on the plans are marked 'optional', for instance the method of attaching the wing to the fuselage using M3 screws. However, I recommend using rubber bands for attachment, as this reduces the risk of damage during rough landings, which happen far more often than you might think!

Preparation: It is best to photocopy the parts from the plans, cut them out, and glue them onto the appropriate balsa sheets or plywood. Use a solvent-free glue stick (such as Uhu-Stick) for this purpose. The adhesive must not dampen the paper, as moisture causes the paper to warp and expand.

These templates serve to shorten construction time and improve building precision. The wing halves should be assembled using a foam building jig. Templates T3 and T4 are used to cut the auxiliary building jig; they account for the wing's required dihedral and washout. If you are unfamiliar with the technique for cutting Styrofoam parts, you can achieve the necessary washout by propping up the wing halves with suitably shaped wedge-like strips.

Fuselage: The tail boom consists of an aluminum or carbon fiber (CFK) tube with a diameter of 8.7 mm; this allows for the routing of up to three Bowden cables and, if applicable, an antenna. Both ends of the tube are sealed with a balsa plug approximately 25 mm long, into which the necessary holes are subsequently drilled (see view F). Note: Routing an antenna inside a metal tube can significantly reduce the RC system's range. An antenna must never be placed inside a carbon fiber tube!

Before drilling the hole for the wing mounting dowel, the height of the receiver must be taken into account; the receiver must fit easily underneath the dowel.

Now, cut out the inner contour of nose block F5 to form the ballast chamber, and do the same for fuselage tail piece F6, which holds the tail boom. Reinforce both fuselage sides using two or three strips of thin veneer or hard 1 mm balsa, approximately 10 mm wide. Apply these reinforcements using cyanoacrylate (CA) glue in the areas where the servos and the wing-retaining dowel will be located.

Constructing the canopy requires particular care, as the triangular balsa strips (F8) must be bent to match the curvature of the canopy. The easiest way to do this is to make multiple partial cuts - without cutting all the way through - along the strips. Then, tack them to the fuselage side walls so they can be removed later. Ensure the strips protrude evenly by about 2 mm beyond the fuselage contour..."
