This is another of the German secret projects. In 1944 German intelligence identified a new threat to the Fatherland: America's B-29 "Super Fortress," which was scheduled to soon be deployed to the European Theater. If the Luftwaffe was going to stop these massive new bombers, it would need a heavy fighter that could operate at same high altitudes at which the B-29 was designed to cruise.

One solution to this problem was proposed by the German aircraft manufacturer Dornier, which had already enjoyed success with its Do.335 "Anteater" push-pull fighter. Like the 335, the P.238 had high-performance piston engines located both fore and aft. But the 238 was significantly longer and narrower than the "Anteater,", which would theoretically increase its performance at high altitude.

The P.238 never made it beyond the proposal stage.

Having submitted the Dornier Do-335 b8 long wing version of the Do-335 I was browsing the Secrets Projects site and found this. So I used the same Don Srull plan as my basis for this plan and wing planform.

CONSTRUCTION:

WING: I used the cracked rib method on this model. This is a way to build a fast, strong and easy way to build a main wing. Get the dimensions for the spars from the wing root shown on the fuselage profile. The spars taper to 3/32” at the tip. As in the Rees’ style construction I add trusses of 1/32”x1/8” and glue them between the spars. Add the turbulator strips between the main spar and the L.E.

FUSELAGE: This fuselage utilizes the dorsal, ventral and lateral spines for construction. I encourage you to build the spars of 1/16” balsa sheets. Once they are ready, draw the placement of the formers on the spines from the plans. Join the formers to the dorsal spine and then the ventral spine. Once this is dried add the lateral spines. Make sure to keep the formers at 90 degree angles to the spines and that the fuselage is straight. Then add the 1/16” sq stringers always alternating them opposite each other as they’re placed on the fuselage.

EMPENNAGE: both the horizontal and vertical stabs panels are made of 3/32” sq and sheet balsa. Built flat on the building board.

If you’re looking for an unusual twin rubber powered model here’s one you won’t see often on the flying field.
