The centre of gravity will be determined by test flights.

The Sky Rover is a similar layout by the same designer. As far as I can see no CG is shown on that plan either but the little sketches of the figure launching the model illustrate the standard procedure for trimming it. Carrying out this trial and error method over a soft surface (e.g. long grass) should be all that's required for a small solid balsa model such as this.

I can't see it in that Aeromodeller but there is another design by My Mallet therein. As for this one, I would respectfully suggest that it leaves much to be desired structurally!

If building, I'd consider using 1/8th balsa with the grain running from nose to tail, with 1/32" side plates with grain vertical. Better chance of the fuzz surviving it's first catapulting or landing!

Hello everyone,
so let's have a try [pic 003]. I choose 1/32 " (0.8 mm) for all flying surfaces and 2 mm (5/64") for the fuselage. Span will be a bit less than 43 cm (17 in) instead of the original's 12 in.
I will keep you informed about possible success.

My model is ready [main pic, 004-006]. Wingspan is a bit under 43 cm, weight is 10 g or 0.35 oz, CG lies 1/3" in front of the main wing's leading edge. Ballast is less than 2 g / 0.07 oz.
I built it as light as I could and intended it as a hand launch glider - not for catapult launch. It floats gently and is capable of nice calm and slow glides. Best suited for indoor flying or outdoor when the wind is on holiday.
Next step will be a smaller more solid version for catapult launch.

@RC Yaeger, @ Danny MZ, The Slip-Slida is not my first three-lifting-surface-aircraft model. A more conventional but nevertheless interesting test vehicle was my albessard-type-triavion-glider. Notes

* Credit field

The Credit field in the Outerzone database is designed to recognise and credit the hard work done in scanning and digitally cleaning these vintage and old timer model aircraft plans to get them into a usable format. Currently, it is also used to credit people simply for uploading the plan to a forum on the internet. Which is not quite the same thing. This will change soon. Probably.

Scaling

This model plan (like all plans on Outerzone) is supposedly scaled correctly and supposedly will print out nicely at the right size. But that doesn't always happen. If you are about to start building a model plane using this free plan, you are strongly advised to check the scaling very, very carefully before cutting any balsa wood.
