Quote: "Enjoy the sound and excitement of this little stunter. Talisman Twin, by Derek Finch.
Having built and flown the Frog Talisman (oz4399) with a PAW 80, I felt the need to increase the wing area. The new model has a span of thirty six inches. To provide the additional power, two profile fuselages were built, each sporting a PAW 80 and fuel being fed from Uniflow tanks. The inboard tank was given a larger capacity than the outboard tank to enable the inboard engine to be started first and to run after the outboard engine had cut out. The result was a stunt model that is responsive and a joy to fly. The chorus of the twin engines is an added pleasure. I am sure those who build this model will have a treasured addition to their collection. Naturally I called the new model 'Talisman Twin'.
Fuselages: Study the plan and have a clear idea of how the fuselages are built before you begin. The central lamination of each of the two fuselages is cut from 5/16" hard balsa sheet. The shape is taken from the side elevation shown on the plan, ignoring the fin. Pin the two profiles together and sand to shape. The openings for the wing to pass through should be accurately cut.
The beech engine bearers are then cut to length and epoxied in place. Ensure the bearers are parallel and spaced to suit the engines to be used When the glue has hardened the bearers should be drilled for the mounting bolts. Epoxy the two plywood doublers in place under pressure.
Construct the two fuel tanks to the dimensions shown on the plan. The engine feed tube is taken to the tip of the 'V' at the back of the tank and the filler/vent tube is bent round to the tip of the 'V' at the front of the tank. Using the mounting strips, screw the tanks to the plywood doublers..."

* Credit field
The Credit field in the Outerzone database is designed to recognise and credit the hard work done in scanning and digitally cleaning these vintage and old timer model aircraft plans to get them into a usable format. Currently, it is also used to credit people simply for uploading the plan to a forum on the internet. Which is not quite the same thing. This will change soon. Probably.
Scaling
This model plan (like all plans on Outerzone) is supposedly scaled correctly and supposedly will print out nicely at the right size. But that doesn't always happen. If you are about to start building a model plane using this free plan, you are strongly advised to check the scaling very, very carefully before cutting any balsa wood.
