About this Plan
SkyVolt. Radio control sport model. Wingspan 48 in, wing area 358 sq in, for electric power with Multiplex EFM-2 motor.
Direct submission to Outerzone.
Quote: "Hi Steve, Attached is the plan for another of mine from 1980. In the late 1970's, I saw the local Multiplex importer demonstrate the 'Sky Fly' on an oval at night while someone kept a torch focussed on the model. I saw the potential for electric power to solve the noise complaints that seemed to plague us, and stop our flying fields getting pushed further and further from the metro area. I realised that the future of RC aircraft was electric. I decided to try electric power and got the Multiplex EFM-2 motor set used in the 'Sky Fly'. I wanted something with better aerobatic potential, so I had to design my own. Also attached is a translation of the EFM-2 instructions, so that people can get an understanding of just how mediocre the power was (~80 watts with a weight of around 18 oz).
regards
Richard"

Notes
* Credit field
The Credit field in the Outerzone database is designed to recognise and credit the hard work done in scanning and digitally cleaning these vintage and old timer model aircraft plans to get them into a usable format. Currently, it is also used to credit people simply for uploading the plan to a forum on the internet. Which is not quite the same thing. This will change soon. Probably.
Scaling
This model plan (like all plans on Outerzone) is supposedly scaled correctly and supposedly will print out nicely at the right size. But that doesn't always happen. If you are about to start building a model plane using this free plan, you are strongly advised to check the scaling very, very carefully before cutting any balsa wood.
