Greyhound (oz16658)
About this Plan
Greyhound. Control line sport biplane model. Wingspan 16 in. Ohlsson 23 shown.
Planfile includes build instructions.
Quote: "Because the GREYHOUND is a semi-finished model, very little instruction is necessary, as far as the building is concerned. However, it is advisable to follow a certain definite procedure to avoid any difficulty.
The fuselage is supplied in two carved and hollowed shells which are cemented together. The inside should be well doped and the internal parts installed first. The formed landing gear should be forced through the fuselage and bound with soft wire or thread between the landing gear bulkheads. Then the bulkheads are well cemented in place.
The coil and condenser are mounted as shown and control system installed on the center of gravity. The battery box mount is cemented to the bottom half of the fuselage directly under the cockpit so that the batteries are accessible. Attach the control rod to the control mechanism and run it back to the control horn of the elevator. The elevator is supplied cut to outline shape and need merely be sanded to airfoil and assembled as shown in the exploded view. Groove the both sides of the fuselage to fit the elevator and cement in place. Then the fuselage can be cemented together and the outside sanded. The cowl section is then cut away and the preshaped motor mount installed. Care should be exercised to maintain the position of the thrust line (Ohlsson 23 shown in drawing) as indicated. The rudder and tail piece may then be sanded and cemented in position..."

Quote: "Hi Steve, There are already some of Bernhard Schoenfeld's designs on Outerzone, and here is another one - 'The Greyhound' kitted by Master Modelcraft. It is an interesting control line stagger wing bipe from 1947 with solid wings and carved fuselage. for ignition engines of Class A, B or C. I imagine it would be a handful with a Class C engine. Again, there is no bellcrank shown in order to avoid the Walker patent.
regards
Richard"

* Credit field
The Credit field in the Outerzone database is designed to recognise and credit the hard work done in scanning and digitally cleaning these vintage and old timer model aircraft plans to get them into a usable format. Currently, it is also used to credit people simply for uploading the plan to a forum on the internet. Which is not quite the same thing. This will change soon. Probably.
Scaling
This model plan (like all plans on Outerzone) is supposedly scaled correctly and supposedly will print out nicely at the right size. But that doesn't always happen. If you are about to start building a model plane using this free plan, you are strongly advised to check the scaling very, very carefully before cutting any balsa wood.
