About this Plan

Zephyr 44. Radio control sport model for electric power with brushless Park 370 motor. Wingspan 44 in, wing area 440 sq in.

Direct submission to Outerzone.

Quote: "The Zephyr 44 was designed especially for my good friend Don Belote. For many years I would travel to Don’s home on Sunday evenings to fly a variety of RC planes. Don had a large field and a pond in his back yard.

He liked the original Mini Zephyr (oz12069) but wanted something larger so he could use the RC equipment, motor and batteries he had available. The enlarged Zephyr 44 drawing was completed in November 2007. Sadly, Don unexpectedly passed away a week or so later. He never saw the plan and I never built it. It should be a good flyer.

If anyone completes one let me know if everything fits and how it performs."

Notes

* Credit field

The Credit field in the Outerzone database is designed to recognise and credit the hard work done in scanning and digitally cleaning these vintage and old timer model aircraft plans to get them into a usable format. Currently, it is also used to credit people simply for uploading the plan to a forum on the internet. Which is not quite the same thing. This will change soon. Probably.

Scaling

This model plan (like all plans on Outerzone) is supposedly scaled correctly and supposedly will print out nicely at the right size. But that doesn't always happen. If you are about to start building a model plane using this free plan, you are strongly advised to check the scaling very, very carefully before cutting any balsa wood.
