Sportsman 30 Late (oz16478)
About this Plan
Sportsman 30 Late. Free flight rubber sport model. Wingspan 30 in. Plan also shows alternate IC motor installation, using Atwood Wasp .049 engine.
Note the Sportsman 30 kit appeared in (at least) 2 forms, which we are calling Early and Late. The early version (1941) uses a simpler wing layout. The late version (1950) includes a planked forward fuselage.
This here is the late version. For the early version, see Sportsman 30 Early (oz16476).

Quote: "Berkeley released a new 'Sportsman 30' kit in 1950 with modifications credited to Bill Effinger allowing the model to be built for either rubber or .020-.039 gas power. Changes included a much more robust planked forward fuselage and half-ribs added to the wing. Plans and parts for this release are attached, scanned from an original kit.
The parts in this release were die-cut, all parts sheets except the ribs were also printed. I've lightly highlighted the die-cut edges on the rib sheet with pencil to make them more visible in the scans."

* Credit field
The Credit field in the Outerzone database is designed to recognise and credit the hard work done in scanning and digitally cleaning these vintage and old timer model aircraft plans to get them into a usable format. Currently, it is also used to credit people simply for uploading the plan to a forum on the internet. Which is not quite the same thing. This will change soon. Probably.
Scaling
This model plan (like all plans on Outerzone) is supposedly scaled correctly and supposedly will print out nicely at the right size. But that doesn't always happen. If you are about to start building a model plane using this free plan, you are strongly advised to check the scaling very, very carefully before cutting any balsa wood.
