Quote: "Dick Kords's Gold Star. Construction Notes: The GOLD STAR as well as the VICTORY (shown elsewhere on this plan) are the result of years of experience by World Champion Dick Korda, the young man who has won both the Moffatt and the Wakefield trophies, the two highest awards in model competition. Incoorporating all the practical knowledge gained by their designer through his years of active competition, the Gold Star and the Victory are Dick Korda's latest achievements in producing champion model airplanes.
Before starting actual construction, study the plan and instructions thoroughly making sure that you know exactly how the model is to be built. Remember too when building this or any other model that care must be taken in its construction if you are to benefit from the vast experience of the designer.
Tack the plan down to a smooth flat surface such as a drawing board or bread bord and cover it with wax paper (to keep the parts from sticking to the plan) and you are ready to start work.
Fuselage: The fuselage is made of 3/32 square balsa by first making two identical sides, then joining them together with cross braces at the top and bottom. The next atep is to add the formers and stringers..."

Quote: "Hello Mary and Steve, I found a Dick Korda plan for a 1939 rubber model called the Korda Gold Star. It looks like it could be the companion of the Korda Victory from the same year. I found it on page 44 of RCGroups vintage only plans thread. It seems like it's been left behind and it's my opinion that it needs to be on Outerzone. It's a cool model, and you could probably use the wing ribs from the Korda Victory to build it. An awesome companion to the Korda Victory. I've attached the plan pdf from RCGroups... It goes without saying, but I'll say it anyway. Outerzone Rules!

Notes
* Credit field
The Credit field in the Outerzone database is designed to recognise and credit the hard work done in scanning and digitally cleaning these vintage and old timer model aircraft plans to get them into a usable format. Currently, it is also used to credit people simply for uploading the plan to a forum on the internet. Which is not quite the same thing. This will change soon. Probably.
Scaling
This model plan (like all plans on Outerzone) is supposedly scaled correctly and supposedly will print out nicely at the right size. But that doesn't always happen. If you are about to start building a model plane using this free plan, you are strongly advised to check the scaling very, very carefully before cutting any balsa wood.
