About this Plan
Schoolmaster. Radio control sport trainer model. Wingspan 39 in.
Direct submission to Outerzone.
Planfile includes full build instructions.
Quote: "Fuselage Construction. Note: for beam mounted engine, see full size detail before starting construction.
1. Cement and pin parts to fuselage sides as shown. On the left side only, trim 1/16 from B-1 and insert a 1/16 x 3/16 scrap piece in front of B-1A. This will give a proper engine offset.
2. Cut slot in B-6 and F-7 to hold F-3. Assembe and glue the fuselage sides together with formers F-3 and F-4. Use triangle to position formers accurately and pin down until glue dries. Hold F-3 in position with pins - do not cement.
3. Cement F-1, B-12 to B-16 in place. Hold assembly together with rubber bands. Drill 3/32 holes in firewall below engine location and fuselage sides for tank..."

This was the first R/C model I ever built and flew. Cox 049, elmic compact escapement, RCS single channel radio. Flew like a dream.Terry - 11/12/2025
In 1968 or so I managed to glue up TWO right-hand fuselage sides! My excuse? I was 13 or 14, The Schoolmaster kit plans weren't shouting at me to avoid that mistake, and so it goes! Fun kit, all told, and Ken Willard was a legend. Exciting days!

Notes
* Credit field
The Credit field in the Outerzone database is designed to recognise and credit the hard work done in scanning and digitally cleaning these vintage and old timer model aircraft plans to get them into a usable format. Currently, it is also used to credit people simply for uploading the plan to a forum on the internet. Which is not quite the same thing. This will change soon. Probably.
Scaling
This model plan (like all plans on Outerzone) is supposedly scaled correctly and supposedly will print out nicely at the right size. But that doesn't always happen. If you are about to start building a model plane using this free plan, you are strongly advised to check the scaling very, very carefully before cutting any balsa wood.
