About this Plan

Lil Buzz. Control line sport biplane model. Wingspan 30 in.

Quote: "Lil Buzz. 60s fun with HC Quek's bipe for .19 power

THE fifties and the sixties - heydays of control-line activity, with the aerobatic, sports biplane a firm favourite. Here's one that nearly got away. Capturing perfectly the spirit of the time, Lil' Buzz dates from the mid-60s and was based on those two famous full-size aircraft, Little Stinker and Little Toot. The original was powered by a K&B .19 fitted with an Enya 19 silencer. Remember those days? Psychadelia ruled, flares were worn and motor scooters had more rear-view mirrors than cc's. Twenty-five years on, get set to carve the sky with this nostalgic sportster.

Motor choice is all yours - dig out those lightweight, stateside glows, or go for modern equivalents. A PAW 249, for example, would be great for loops and wing ovens; a 3.5 glow ensures things will liven up considerably.

Building Lil' Buzz is entirely straightforward, but take care that alignment is correct and surfaces are warp-free. The original featured a wire cabane, but the alternative, wood strut arrangement will attract modellers deterred by the thought of wire bending..."

Notes

* Credit field

The Credit field in the Outerzone database is designed to recognise and credit the hard work done in scanning and digitally cleaning these vintage and old timer model aircraft plans to get them into a usable format. Currently, it is also used to credit people simply for uploading the plan to a forum on the internet. Which is not quite the same thing. This will change soon. Probably.

Scaling

This model plan (like all plans on Outerzone) is supposedly scaled correctly and supposedly will print out nicely at the right size. But that doesn't always happen. If you are about to start building a model plane using this free plan, you are strongly advised to check the scaling very, very carefully before cutting any balsa wood.
