Bird of Time (oz16424)
About this Plan
Bird of Time. Radio control glider model. Wingspan 118 in, wing area 1070 sq in.
Note the Bird of Time (oz2093) first appeared in RCM Jan 1979 along with an article written by Dave Thornburg, that ends with this: "If you have any questions or comments, I'm at 3656 Mt Vernon, Sebastapol, Calif. And if you can't bear the thought of all that cutting and hacking, I'm planning to put out twenty or thirty hand-cut kits this fall, to help pay the rent. Rattle my cage for prices and details."
This here is the plan from the kits produced by Dave Thornburg himself, circa 1979.
Direct submission to Outerzone.
Quote: "This is the plan from the first 50 kits that Dave put out. I still have one, will check and see if there's any more info in the box... Here is the manual for it."

I bought a "Bird of Time" on a fleahmarket , quite cheap, because the elevatorpushrod was disabled by a drop of epoxy....Unluckly I had no plan so I had to get the CG by experiment, later a comrade gave me the right place....Flys fine now, but I didn`t ad spoilers yet...Reinhard Lehmann - 30/11/2025

Notes
* Credit field
The Credit field in the Outerzone database is designed to recognise and credit the hard work done in scanning and digitally cleaning these vintage and old timer model aircraft plans to get them into a usable format. Currently, it is also used to credit people simply for uploading the plan to a forum on the internet. Which is not quite the same thing. This will change soon. Probably.
Scaling
This model plan (like all plans on Outerzone) is supposedly scaled correctly and supposedly will print out nicely at the right size. But that doesn't always happen. If you are about to start building a model plane using this free plan, you are strongly advised to check the scaling very, very carefully before cutting any balsa wood.
