About this Plan

Fokker DVII. Radio control scale model WWI fighter biplane. Wingspan 43 in.

Quote: "It is surprisingly two and a half years since the drawings of the Nieuport 24 (oz11139) were published in RCM&E as a free pull-out plan. Judging by the poularity of that model, WWI designs of a manageable size are to the taste of many modellers. Incidentally, I still receive one or two orders a week for Nieuport accessory packs but I regret these are no longer available - a case of miscalculating the demand. I hope that the Fokker D7 will meet with equal enthusiasm and that it will soon prove to be a worthy adversay for the Nieuport.

Although the Fokker D7 did not come into servioce until April 1918 it soon built up the reputation of being the finest fighter aircraft produced by Germany, and better than most of the Allied aircraft..."

Quote: "I've been methodically scanning all RCM&E, and I'm up to 1979 and noticed that you don't have the original David Boddington Fokker DVII plan that was a free 'pull-out' plan in the December 1978 and January 1979 issues. You do have his updated plan of the electric-powered Fokker DVII EP (oz15143) from the Model Flyer Magazine, which is very similar, but this one was for I/C, not electric. Cheers, Mike"

Notes

* Credit field

The Credit field in the Outerzone database is designed to recognise and credit the hard work done in scanning and digitally cleaning these vintage and old timer model aircraft plans to get them into a usable format. Currently, it is also used to credit people simply for uploading the plan to a forum on the internet. Which is not quite the same thing. This will change soon. Probably.

Scaling

This model plan (like all plans on Outerzone) is supposedly scaled correctly and supposedly will print out nicely at the right size. But that doesn't always happen. If you are about to start building a model plane using this free plan, you are strongly advised to check the scaling very, very carefully before cutting any balsa wood.
