About this Plan

Azor Trainer. Radio control trainer model. Wingspan 1270 mm.

Direct submission to Outerzone.

Quote: "Hi, Steve and Mary. Good morning. Today I send you the plan of another design from Juan Carlos Sánchez Doménech, the "Azor Trainer", one 1270 mm wingspan R/C trainer for .15 engine. The plan was published in the "Flaps" magazine (number 231, February 1980) and sold in the shop "Azor" from Madrid.

Unfortunately, the scan's resolution is not good, but the vector redraw is awesome.

As usual, I add the plan, the construction article and the redraw in vector PDF as well as in both vector CAD formats: DWG and DXF.

Greetings, from your friend.
Valeria367"

Quote: "The AZOR TRAINER is a development of a well-known model, the BAILADOR. Both were designed by the excellent aeromodeler Juan Carlos Sánchez Domenech. We witnessed the introduction to radio control of many of today's accomplished R/C pilots, first with the BAILAOR and now with this 'CESSNA'-style version more to today's taste. In any case, this is AN EXCELLENT MODEL THAT WE RECOMMEND WITHOUT ANY RESERVATION.

The construction presents no difficulty, as nothing is missing or superfluous. A box fuselage with 5 mm balsa sides, closed top and bottom with 3 mm balsa with cross-grain (widthwise), except where the gear is screwed on, which is 5 mm plywood, and the access cover to the fuel tank compartment, which is 5 mm balsa. It has the essential frames: A to support the bench and front leg, made of good 5 mm plywood (multi-layer), and B and C made of 3 mm balsa wood with holes for the control passages..."

Notes

* Credit field

The Credit field in the Outerzone database is designed to recognise and credit the hard work done in scanning and digitally cleaning these vintage and old timer model aircraft plans to get them into a usable format. Currently, it is also used to credit people simply for uploading the plan to a forum on the internet. Which is not quite the same thing. This will change soon. Probably.

Scaling

This model plan (like all plans on Outerzone) is supposedly scaled correctly and supposedly will print out nicely at the right size. But that doesn't always happen. If you are about to start building a model plane using this free plan, you are strongly advised to check the scaling very, very carefully before cutting any balsa wood.
