Quote: "Hi, Steve and Mary. Good afternoon. Some weeks ago, I was looking in my collection of old magazines, when I found this interesting model. The model was published in the today extinct Spanish magazine "Flaps" (in the number 196, September 1976), and sold in the shop "Azor" in Madrid. How today is almost impossible to find one full size copy of the plan (the shop still exist today, but only sell ready to fly R/C models), I took the facsimil published in the magazine, scanned it, jointed the two halfs, resized it, and redraw all the plan in CAD format. As usual I send you the redraw in vector PDF and both CAD vector formats: DWG and DXF.
Unfortunately, I don't know who is the author of the plan. Their name don't appear either in the plan or the magazine's article.
Greetings, from your friend.
Valeria367."
Quote (google-translated): "CIRCULAR FLIGHT MESSERSCHMITT Bf 109.
The prototype models (Profile) of the most famous World War II aircraft are always well received by aeromodelers, and this has given rise to a charming practice, not practiced here, called 'SLOW-COMBAT,' that is, slow combat with prototype models of these fighters. The term 'slow' is a term that only has value when compared to the extremely fast FAI fighter flying wings, so deeply rooted in Spain.
It's interesting to analyze what fame can do, because while the vast majority of us are Me 109 enthusiasts, we must recognize that there is no aesthetic comparison between the angular lines of Willy Messerschmitt's design and the extremely elegant ones of Mitchell's Spitfire. But the Me 109s will go down in aviation history on merit, and their reproductions, whether in pure scale, 'stand-off-scale, or a 'Profile-Scala,' are always well received.
This model presents no complications. The fuselage is cut from 10 mm balsa wood, with 10 x 10 beech slats for the frame (CHECK YOUR ENGINE WITH THE PLAN BEFORE) and 2 mm plywood reinforcements.
Rectangular wing with a structure consisting of a commercial front end bar, double 5 x 0 mm balsa wood spar, and the tail section formed by two 1.5 mm V-shaped sheets. Slotted beech wood slats for the landing gear. 3 mm marginal edges, 1.5 mm balsa wood veneer for the center section; 2 mm balsa ribs in three types: 10 A-frames, 4 B-frames, and 3 C-frames.
Tailplanes in 5 mm balsa. The landing gear has 3 mm steel main legs, 40 mm wheels, and a 2 mm plywood fairing and a 20 mm tailplane with 1.5 mm steel wire.
The paint scheme is clearly expressed in this drawing. The fuselage is light blue mottled with dark green with a fine-haired brush; the nose and part of the tail are yellow, along with insignia, etc. The wing is in two shades of green, one similar to the fuselage and the other darker; the undersides of the wings are light blue.
We really liked this model, except for one detail: its landing gear was COMPLETELY DIFFERENT FROM THE Bf 109, in that the legs emerged very close together and were close to the fuselage. As shown in this drawing, the model will undoubtedly take off and land better. Ultimately, the builder will be able to choose between one type or the other.
The drawing is for sale at AZOR, Calle de Murillo No. 2, MADRID, through whose kindness we are publishing this facsimile."

ScaleType: This (oz16210) is a scale plan. Where possible we link scale plans to Wikipedia, using a text string called ScaleType.
If we got this right, you now have a couple of direct links (above) to 1. see the Wikipedia page, and 2. search Oz for more plans of this type. If we didn't, then see below.
Notes:
ScaleType is formed from the last part of the Wikipedia page address, which here is https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Messerschmitt_Bf_109
Wikipedia page addresses may well change over time.
For more obscure types, there currently will be no Wiki page found. We tag these cases as ScaleType = NotFound. These will change over time.

* Credit field
The Credit field in the Outerzone database is designed to recognise and credit the hard work done in scanning and digitally cleaning these vintage and old timer model aircraft plans to get them into a usable format. Currently, it is also used to credit people simply for uploading the plan to a forum on the internet. Which is not quite the same thing. This will change soon. Probably.
Scaling
This model plan (like all plans on Outerzone) is supposedly scaled correctly and supposedly will print out nicely at the right size. But that doesn't always happen. If you are about to start building a model plane using this free plan, you are strongly advised to check the scaling very, very carefully before cutting any balsa wood.
