Quickie 200 (oz16145)

About this Plan

Quickie 200. Radio control pylon racer model. Wingspan 35 in.

Note the Quickie 200 (oz7889) was published in RCM, June 1975. This here is a later redrawn CAD version of the plan. Complete with built up balsa wing.

Note the primary drawing here is the CAD zip download (in dxf format). That's the file that Ariel sent us, and that is his design, his work. The PDF file you see here is really just a taster, a PDF file in this slot for Oz users who don't have a CAD viewer.

Direct submission to Outerzone.

Quote: "Hi, I hope you are doing well. Attached is a CAD dxf file with the parts for laser cutting the Quickie 200 (oz7889) replacing the ACE foam wing with a balsa wing, and an option to replace the Cox with an electric motor. In the dxf you will find a text with an overview and comments.

Special thanks to Dean Funk who designed the balsa wing and gave permission to share with the outerzone community.

Also attached a picture of the finished airplane [main pic]. This one is powered with a SUNNYSKY X SERIES V3 X2305 and is really fun to fly!

Best Regards, Ariel Lempel"

User comments

Thank you for converting this plan to CAD. Could you please post the additional build info as a separate PDF?

Ok, I have extracted the build notes text onto 2 pages of A4, and uploaded that as a pdf. But there are some strange characters in there (section headings?), I am not sure how best to fix that. Anyone else wants to have a go at extracting the text from the dxf file, that would be great.

Notes

* Credit field

The Credit field in the Outerzone database is designed to recognise and credit the hard work done in scanning and digitally cleaning these vintage and old timer model aircraft plans to get them into a usable format. Currently, it is also used to credit people simply for uploading the plan to a forum on the internet. Which is not quite the same thing. This will change soon. Probably.

Scaling

This model plan (like all plans on Outerzone) is supposedly scaled correctly and supposedly will print out nicely at the right size. But that doesn't always happen. If you are about to start building a model plane using this free plan, you are strongly advised to check the scaling very, very carefully before cutting any balsa wood.
