About this Plan

P-51C Mustang. Profile scale control line model, for 1/2A engine. Wingspan 22.5 in.

Note this is not a full size plan. But the plan does include a parts ID drawing, at reduced scale. [Fixed now, see vector format plan].

Direct submission to Outerzone.

Quote: "This 1/2A P-51C was designed and kitted by Dave Shipton of Delavan, IL., USA. Dave was the designer of the SIG Deweybird, and kitted other of his designs himself under the Hobbyway Model Engineers label. He sold these by mail order and in his shop, Hobby Hideaway."

Update 27/5/2025: Added vectorPDF and CAD (dxf and dwg) versions of this plan, now including all parts, thanks to Valeria367.

Quote: "Hi, Steve and Mary. Good morning. Some days ago, Dave B asked for full size templates for both Dave Shipton's C/L models: "P-51C Mustang" (oz16022) and "P-51C Mustang Beguine" (oz16023). So, I got both plans, resized it to full size, and drew the plans and templates for both models. As usual, I include the drawings in PDF vectorial format, and both CAD formats: DXF and DWG.
Greetings, from your friend.
Valeria367."

Notes

* Credit field

The Credit field in the Outerzone database is designed to recognise and credit the hard work done in scanning and digitally cleaning these vintage and old timer model aircraft plans to get them into a usable format. Currently, it is also used to credit people simply for uploading the plan to a forum on the internet. Which is not quite the same thing. This will change soon. Probably.

Scaling

This model plan (like all plans on Outerzone) is supposedly scaled correctly and supposedly will print out nicely at the right size. But that doesn't always happen. If you are about to start building a model plane using this free plan, you are strongly advised to check the scaling very, very carefully before cutting any balsa wood.
