Scout (oz15994)
About this Plan
Scout. Free flight towliner glider model. Wingspan 1000mm.
Direct submission to Outerzone.
Quote: "Hi, I'd like to send you the pdf of Scout, by Aeropiccola circa 1955, but never listed in that house plans. My first model.
I was always fascinated by aircraft, my father was in the Airforce, so it was easy to have magazines since very young. Aeromodelling was natural then and I followed a course in Vicenza St Catherine parochy, 1955 when boys had other interests than playing football.
The model was the little scout, very different from the wartime trainers and modern in looks. So waxpaper, pins, balsa, Gillette, cement and yellow modelspan, tightened by nitro diluted cement. Fuselage red nitro. Launch was of course running into the wind, glide was a joy, when adjusted.
A note on date: Scout is present on Aeropiccola catalog of 1955 at 150 lire, but my plan price is 100 lire. That might date it around 1953.
I was surprised not to find it online, so now I happy to have filled this gap in Aeropiccola plans. All the best and please let me know if some nostalgic builds it. Since running now is out of question, maybe a little 30 Watt electric can help.

Notes
* Credit field
The Credit field in the Outerzone database is designed to recognise and credit the hard work done in scanning and digitally cleaning these vintage and old timer model aircraft plans to get them into a usable format. Currently, it is also used to credit people simply for uploading the plan to a forum on the internet. Which is not quite the same thing. This will change soon. Probably.
Scaling
This model plan (like all plans on Outerzone) is supposedly scaled correctly and supposedly will print out nicely at the right size. But that doesn't always happen. If you are about to start building a model plane using this free plan, you are strongly advised to check the scaling very, very carefully before cutting any balsa wood.
