About this Plan
Phoenix. Control line stunt model. F2B class. Wingspan 51.6 in, for .35 to .46 engines.
Quote: "Hi Steve, hi Mary, how do you do? Wishing the best for you both!
This time we have a very nice U/C F2B project, the 'Phoenix' for engines in the .35 to .46 range, designed in 1975 by Mr Edgard Thomas Martine when he lived in Brasilia.
The model has a wingspan of 51.6 inches (131 cm) and a fuse length of 38.33 inches (97,1 cm). Here is the model's history told by the designer:
"PHOENIX 35/46" - MODEL FOR F2B - BRASILIA - 1975 - PROJECT OF CMDR EDGARD THOMAS MARTINE - A BEAUTIFUL MODEL WITH A VERY FLUID AERODYNAMIC LINE
A beautiful Model undoubtedly designed in the 70s, at a time when the U/C was living a 'golden age' in Brazil. Following, a little of the history of the project that is told to us by the author:
"I designed this kit in the mid 70’s when model airplanes were thriving in Brasilia. Mainly F2B. I was champion with Stiletto 46. But I designed this plane for OS Max and Fox 35. In the end they were already using OS Max40-h. Thirty-five kits were cut and sold in a shop that sold the aerobras and mobral aircraft. The owner was Márcio, a modeller. All model pilots used and improved their maneuvers with this plane. There was a report in Sport Modelismo late magazine, where Fred Cesquim read and was crazy to have one at the time.
There are 2 kits left, one of mine and where the last is with Roberto, assembling until today. But he said that he would cut a kit and send to Freddy to assemble. All praised the smoothness and accuracy of response. It has differential flaps and rudder with variable curvature...
Please find attached a period image from the model and also the plan from this beautiful model! All The Best, Carlo"

Note the cleanup on this scan was tricky. See supplement greyscale file for a copy of the original scan before I messed with it. There may be some useful detail in there that got lost in the cleanup process. A close comparison may be useful. Steve.

* Credit field
The Credit field in the Outerzone database is designed to recognise and credit the hard work done in scanning and digitally cleaning these vintage and old timer model aircraft plans to get them into a usable format. Currently, it is also used to credit people simply for uploading the plan to a forum on the internet. Which is not quite the same thing. This will change soon. Probably.
Scaling
This model plan (like all plans on Outerzone) is supposedly scaled correctly and supposedly will print out nicely at the right size. But that doesn't always happen. If you are about to start building a model plane using this free plan, you are strongly advised to check the scaling very, very carefully before cutting any balsa wood.
