Quote: "Steve, I have another plan for the web site. Surprise surprise, it is not a scale model this time. It is a Coupe or FF unlimited from R/N Models named Maverick (33in WS). I have included the printed wood, prop instructions, how to adjust and fly the model, and a catalog of R/N Models. It is interesting that R/N labels the Maverick as 36in, but when I measure the plans it is only 33.25in. I don't know why there is a 3in difference unless they consider that it is 36in laying flat without the dihedral. But then again you would think that they would have map the plans at 36in since you would be building it flat on the building table before adding the dihedral.
A interesting side note is that there is no former A on the printed wood. This might be because it would be difficult to cut out since it is so thin where the stringers lay. To me I would just fill in between the stringers and then do a little sanding to round it to shape. Another thing is curious about the formers, the plans say they are from 3/32" balsa, but formers B & C are printed on the 1/8" printed wood. Thanks. Roger"

What a wonderful idea to include R/N's catalogue! I do hope one day it will be possible to add the Fleet 16 to Oz database, as it is one of my favourite aircraft and R/N model certainly looks good on the photo. There are a number of Fleet plans in Oz but they tend to be of earlier versions with a very small vertical tail surface.Arno - 19/03/2025

Notes
* Credit field
The Credit field in the Outerzone database is designed to recognise and credit the hard work done in scanning and digitally cleaning these vintage and old timer model aircraft plans to get them into a usable format. Currently, it is also used to credit people simply for uploading the plan to a forum on the internet. Which is not quite the same thing. This will change soon. Probably.
Scaling
This model plan (like all plans on Outerzone) is supposedly scaled correctly and supposedly will print out nicely at the right size. But that doesn't always happen. If you are about to start building a model plane using this free plan, you are strongly advised to check the scaling very, very carefully before cutting any balsa wood.
