About this Plan

Robbe Disco. Radio control hand launch glider model.

Direct submission to Outerzone.

Quote: "Hello Mary, Steve, Here's a plan I've seen quite some interest in: the Robbe Disco. It's a simple RC hand launched glider from the 90's. I don't have an accurate release year unfortunately. It sold pretty cheap for €30-40. Wingspan 54", flying weight 360g (with two standard servos!). It is reported to launch nicely on a high start or bungee, flies nice in light wind on the slope and in general provides a high fun to cost ratio.Wing profile is claimed to be Eppler 205 which I verified on the plans and seems to be accurate.

I'm including:
- cleaned up scan of the plan
- extracted & scaled parts from the plans: note there seems to be an error for the two center wingpanel ribs: there's no provision for the 1mm top
sheeting. I think the top spar should be lowered and the top outline offset
by 1mm.
- scan of the multilingual building description (sorry for the file size...)
- a photo from the box [main pic] (found online & cleaned) and 3 other photos [pics 003-005] I found online at: http://d.huveau.free.fr/MesAvions/Disco/Disco.htm

All the best,
Maarten Zanders"

The Robbe Disco, that's a cool one! I was given the kit as my first model, but was advised by the local club to return it and get a Robbe Charter instead, on which I learned the craft, of building and flying. I should build a Disco someday just for old times sake.

Notes

* Credit field

The Credit field in the Outerzone database is designed to recognise and credit the hard work done in scanning and digitally cleaning these vintage and old timer model aircraft plans to get them into a usable format. Currently, it is also used to credit people simply for uploading the plan to a forum on the internet. Which is not quite the same thing. This will change soon. Probably.

Scaling

This model plan (like all plans on Outerzone) is supposedly scaled correctly and supposedly will print out nicely at the right size. But that doesn't always happen. If you are about to start building a model plane using this free plan, you are strongly advised to check the scaling very, very carefully before cutting any balsa wood.
