About this Plan
Sierra Ghia. Radio control aerobatic slope soarer model. Wingspan 1870 mm.
Quote: "Sierra Ghia Ref: SM0013: The Sierra Ghia is a precision aerobatic model designed for the budding aerobic pilot who likes to get the manoeuvres right. The robust construction features a foam veneer wing with a ply-sided fuselage. The Sierra Ghia is also a model with pleasing lines that will fly in most wind conditions.

Update 6/2/2025: Added airfoil dat zipfile, thanks to Martin Huebner.
Quote: "Hi Steve and Mary, I really appreciate your excellent website and the release of Stan Yeo's plans. The airfoil of the Sierra Ghia (oz15816) glider is specified as 3/4 symmetrical and I was curious what it is. Therefore I traced the coordinates from the plan and smoothed it. Attached you'll find the result. Greetings, Martin Huebner"

Sierra Ghia was the name of a Ford car luxury model of 1987 circa. Giacinto Ghia (Italy) was the owner of a car design company in Turin. He was the designer of the avveniristic Lincoln Futura that became the first Batmobile.Pit - 30/01/2025
Is this plan scaled to full size? As on his site, Stan states the plan is not full size. Rather, it can be used to make a 44" version.
MHodgson - 30/01/2025
This one here has been scaled up to full size, at 74 in.

Notes
* Credit field
The Credit field in the Outerzone database is designed to recognise and credit the hard work done in scanning and digitally cleaning these vintage and old timer model aircraft plans to get them into a usable format. Currently, it is also used to credit people simply for uploading the plan to a forum on the internet. Which is not quite the same thing. This will change soon. Probably.
Scaling
This model plan (like all plans on Outerzone) is supposedly scaled correctly and supposedly will print out nicely at the right size. But that doesn't always happen. If you are about to start building a model plane using this free plan, you are strongly advised to check the scaling very, very carefully before cutting any balsa wood.
