About this Plan

RCM 15-500. Radio control sport/pylon model. Wingspan 51 in, for .19 to .40 engines.

The RCM 15-500 (oz6031) was published in RCM, October 1973. This here is the 15-500 as kitted by Bridi Hobby Enterprises. Note different wood sizes here used in the wing.

Direct submission to Outerzone.

Quote: "Steve and MaryHAPPY HOLIDAYS!! Hoping all is well on your side of the pond. I found a Bridi kit of the RCM 15-500. I was quite surprised when I looked at the plan you have posted from the RCM article. So I am sending this one along as well. I would assume, with this model being a nice, simple, fast build, that with less power it would make a good sport plane. They may have been seeking the larger market, instead of an all-out racer. This has 3/8" sq LE and spars, and a much thicker wing. From my perspective, either one could weigh considerably less. 1/16" ribs, the smaller spars, built up stab, and a brushless up front!

Notes

* Credit field

The Credit field in the Outerzone database is designed to recognise and credit the hard work done in scanning and digitally cleaning these vintage and old timer model aircraft plans to get them into a usable format. Currently, it is also used to credit people simply for uploading the plan to a forum on the internet. Which is not quite the same thing. This will change soon. Probably.

Scaling

This model plan (like all plans on Outerzone) is supposedly scaled correctly and supposedly will print out nicely at the right size. But that doesn't always happen. If you are about to start building a model plane using this free plan, you are strongly advised to check the scaling very, very carefully before cutting any balsa wood.
