About this Plan

King Condor. Radio control sport model. Wingspan 45 in, for .20 to .25 engine.

Quote: "King Condor. From the glorious pages of aeronuttical history blazes this little known fighter from the 1930s. Peter Miller has its barely believable story - and that of the ace of aces who flew it.

Afew years ago I did some research into the TRI-6-AL Pursuit (oz9631) the results of the research and a plan of the model being published in Radio Modeller, April 1990. At that time I was under the impression that the last Trivial Pursuit had been left in PoppaquetIon when the pilots returned to the USA, but further information has since come to light and this article completes the story of the Trivial Pursuit.

Skunk Magee decided to bring the surviving Trivial Pursuit back to America from the tiny mountain country of PoppaquetIon. The preparations took some time as Skunk had to retrieve spares from various crashed and abandoned aircraft and carry out a complete overhaul. In this he was helped by barnstormer and alcoholic Pop Lewis who had 'gone native' and settled in the country.

The flight back was relatively uneventful, a mere half dozen forced landings, a run in with some bandits and one small revolution which proved quite profitable to the owner of the only armed aircraft in the area. Once back in the USA there was an unfortunate incident when a Curtiss Jenny chewed up the Trivial Pursuit's tail while overtaking. This convinced Skunk that he should invest some cash in a new engine and other repairs. The aircraft had a new tail fitted with a rather racy extended headrest which now faired into the fin. It was equipped with the Wright Pratt BE 50/100H engine which transformed the performance. Skunk also had a smoke system installed for skywriting. The aircraft was painted red and yellow and named King Condor... "

* Credit field

The Credit field in the Outerzone database is designed to recognise and credit the hard work done in scanning and digitally cleaning these vintage and old timer model aircraft plans to get them into a usable format. Currently, it is also used to credit people simply for uploading the plan to a forum on the internet. Which is not quite the same thing. This will change soon. Probably.

Scaling

This model plan (like all plans on Outerzone) is supposedly scaled correctly and supposedly will print out nicely at the right size. But that doesn't always happen. If you are about to start building a model plane using this free plan, you are strongly advised to check the scaling very, very carefully before cutting any balsa wood.
