About this Plan

Wild 7 - 90. Radio control sport pattern plane. Wingspan 64 in.

Direct submission to Outerzone.

Quote: "Hi Mary, I have been enjoying your website as an excellent source of model plans and contributed with a few photographs, but I have never with a plan. That is to date, as I have this scan of a beautiful F3A pattern plane, the Wild 7*90. This is the smaller version of the Wild 7 designed for a 90 size four stroke engine. It is designed by Y. Akiba and M. Kato from Japan. The plan is from the excellent MK Kato kit which has a fiberglass upper deck and chin cowl. Wing span is 64”

Some people may recognize the looks of the ARF Phoenix Model Typhoon: http://phoenixmodel.com/Product.aspx?ProductId=599 It is not a coincidence, the Typhoon was definitely based on the looks of the Wild 7. Even the color scheme was partially copied...

I will shortly build the kit and get back to you with photographs of the finished model.

Best regards from Belgium,
Philip Avonds

Just a note on cleanup. This plan could still use some more cleanup, I simply ran out of time. The raw scan is greyscale at 150 dpi, this here is now a 200 dpi 2-color bitmap. Anyone who wants to work on this, I have a file here with both layers.

Notes

* Credit field

The Credit field in the Outerzone database is designed to recognise and credit the hard work done in scanning and digitally cleaning these vintage and old timer model aircraft plans to get them into a usable format. Currently, it is also used to credit people simply for uploading the plan to a forum on the internet. Which is not quite the same thing. This will change soon. Probably.

Scaling

This model plan (like all plans on Outerzone) is supposedly scaled correctly and supposedly will print out nicely at the right size. But that doesn't always happen. If you are about to start building a model plane using this free plan, you are strongly advised to check the scaling very, very carefully before cutting any balsa wood.
