Citabria (oz15581)
About this Plan
Citabria. Radio control scale model. Wingspan 69 in, wing area 740 sq in. For .40 to .45 engines.
Discontinued kit from SIG.
Note this is not the current kit (RC-30). This here is the plan from the 1968 kit (RC-8). This plan shows a symmetrical airfoil. The design was later revised by SIG, and from 1972 onwards used a flat-bottom airfoil. See current Sig kit instruction manual at https://wanderings-ds-2.jimdofree.com/sig-rc-kits-plan-sheets-and-instructions/ for more detail on this (page 2) :
Quote: "About The Sig Kit: The Sig Citabria, Kit No. RC-30, was originally introduced to the public in 1968. That original kit appeared with a fully symmetrical airfoil which was great for aerobatics, but proved to be hard to handle for the average flier of the time. In 1972, the kit was introduced with several changes, including the flat bottomed airfoil which it still has today. The new airfoil made the airplane much easier to fly and still allowed it to perform scale-like maneuvers..."

Quote: "Hello Outerzone admin. After years of begging, pleading, offering untold riches in exchange and otherwise cajoling those who had what I searched, finally I got a scan of the original Sig Citabria plan. This is the symmetric airfoil version, long out of production and very unobtainable. Finally I got it. So here it is, in case there are still others looking and you can use it. Cheers,"
Note this plan is a large filesize. High res scan at 600 dpi.

ScaleType: This (oz15581) is a scale plan. Where possible we link scale plans to Wikipedia, using a text string called ScaleType.
If we got this right, you now have a couple of direct links (above) to 1. see the Wikipedia page, and 2. search Oz for more plans of this type. If we didn't, then see below.
Notes:
ScaleType is formed from the last part of the Wikipedia page address, which here is https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/American_Champion_Citabria
Wikipedia page addresses may well change over time.
For more obscure types, there currently will be no Wiki page found. We tag these cases as ScaleType = NotFound. These will change over time.

Dear outer zone-Team, many thanks also for this plan, great site. However - and this time it seems not to be a macOS issue - it looks like the pdf-file with the plan may be corrupted. The maximum I could see, while trying different setups (Apps and OS), was only the second page, but mostly just two empty pages, and even crashing of the pdf-app just after trying to load.Best regards

Works for me. It is a very large file, at 600 dpi. Essentially, if you are seeing a blank page, the problem is at your end. I know you don't want to hear that.

The file downloads and opens fine for me.

Worked for me too, in about one second. No problem

* Credit field
The Credit field in the Outerzone database is designed to recognise and credit the hard work done in scanning and digitally cleaning these vintage and old timer model aircraft plans to get them into a usable format. Currently, it is also used to credit people simply for uploading the plan to a forum on the internet. Which is not quite the same thing. This will change soon. Probably.
Scaling
This model plan (like all plans on Outerzone) is supposedly scaled correctly and supposedly will print out nicely at the right size. But that doesn't always happen. If you are about to start building a model plane using this free plan, you are strongly advised to check the scaling very, very carefully before cutting any balsa wood.
