Direct submission to Outerzone.

Quote: "G'morning Mary & Steve, The Fiesler Fi 156 Storch from Heros = Hermann Rommler, Stuttgart in the 1.58m wingspan version. (There had also been also a smaller and a larger one.) Designed by Otger Schmolinske. It was later sold by Alexander Engel in Knittlingen (a very model-heavy town in the past, around 50km from Stuttgart), initially as a kit and later only as a plan. It is said to have been too complex and expensive to produce the kit. The instructions are printed in German on one of the plan sheets.

And a pic of the deceased flyer lying on the plans, which I received as a gift in this 'good used' state 1976 or so."

Quote (google-translated from the advert text): "FIESELER STORCH Fi 156. We have been asked again and again about the true-to-scale model of the famous Fieseler Storch, which we used to offer as a kit, but whose particularly labor-intensive production we stopped due to cost inflation. A necessary price increase of over 70% to date does not seem reasonable to us. That is why we are now giving lovers of this unique model the detailed 1:1 construction plan, according to which every model builder can build the RC Storch in 1:9 scale with a little time, but without any difficulty. So for people who still have time for model building or have time again and want to save money. Wingspan: 1584 mm. Order no. 1723: CONSTRUCTION PLAN Fieseler Fi 156 Storch by O Schmolinske."

    ScaleType: This (oz15445) is a scale plan. Where possible we link scale plans to Wikipedia, using a text string called ScaleType.

    If we got this right, you now have a couple of direct links (above) to 1. see the Wikipedia page, and 2. search Oz for more plans of this type. If we didn't, then see below.

    Notes:
    ScaleType is formed from the last part of the Wikipedia page address, which here is https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Fieseler_Fi_156
    Wikipedia page addresses may well change over time.
    For more obscure types, there currently will be no Wiki page found. We tag these cases as ScaleType = NotFound. These will change over time.

Notes

* Credit field

The Credit field in the Outerzone database is designed to recognise and credit the hard work done in scanning and digitally cleaning these vintage and old timer model aircraft plans to get them into a usable format. Currently, it is also used to credit people simply for uploading the plan to a forum on the internet. Which is not quite the same thing. This will change soon. Probably.

Scaling

This model plan (like all plans on Outerzone) is supposedly scaled correctly and supposedly will print out nicely at the right size. But that doesn't always happen. If you are about to start building a model plane using this free plan, you are strongly advised to check the scaling very, very carefully before cutting any balsa wood.
