About this Plan

Sky Scraper. Rubber sport model. Wingspan 25 in.

Direct submission to Outerzone.

Quote:"On with the sports rubber model theme, this pot-bellied, skinny-winged, twin finned 25" span oddity comes from the Fresno Model Aircraft Co. in 1986, although its styling harks back to models from the 1930's. It would probably fly quite nicely, it would stand out from less characterful models at the field, and would be a straightforward build. Cheers,
Dilwyn"

Note photo of framed up model [main pic] was found online at: https://dcmaxecuter.org/wp-content/uploads/2023/12/Max-Fax-2014-1st-QTR.pdf and shows model built by Stew Myers, from the cover of MaxFax, 2014. The article inside that issue suggests the Sky Scraper was originally a Scientific design from the early 1940s, maybe from the "Super_Fliers" range?

Update 22/7/2024: Added printwood scan from the above MaxFax article.

Supplementary file notes

Printwood.

Notes

* Credit field

The Credit field in the Outerzone database is designed to recognise and credit the hard work done in scanning and digitally cleaning these vintage and old timer model aircraft plans to get them into a usable format. Currently, it is also used to credit people simply for uploading the plan to a forum on the internet. Which is not quite the same thing. This will change soon. Probably.

Scaling

This model plan (like all plans on Outerzone) is supposedly scaled correctly and supposedly will print out nicely at the right size. But that doesn't always happen. If you are about to start building a model plane using this free plan, you are strongly advised to check the scaling very, very carefully before cutting any balsa wood.
