About this Plan

Jige Nyou. Free flight sport power model. Low wing layout. Wingspan 1.90 m.

Direct submission to Outerzone.

Quote: "Hello, Herewith the plans for the attractive 1900 mm span Jigé Nyou power model designed by Jean Guillemard and first published in 1947. Original power was either a Micron 5cc fixed compression diesel or an ignition 10cc Rea engine.

It is called 'Nyou' because of the simple and innovative construction methods. I also have attached a few action pictures of various Nyou's taken a few years ago at the annual vintage gathering on the Persan-Beaumont airfield north of Paris. Also I found in my archives a picture of Jean Guillemard with his original Jigé Nyou to add [see pic 003]. Thank you again for the Outerzone site. Jean-Marie Piednoir."

Note this scan is not complete. There are some sections missing from both sheet 1 and sheet 2. This is all we have, at the moment. I think all the information that you need is here to build the model. But if anyone can send in more info, or indeed a better scan, that would be great. Steve.

Did we get something wrong with these details about this plan (especially the datafile)? That happens sometimes. You can help us fix it.

Hi Steve, There appears to be some misunderstanding here (probably me!). You say there are sections missing but, as far as I can see, you have the complete original Guillemard plan, i.e. anything you consider to be missing was missing on the original plan. I have this plan and, personally, I can't see anything missing. It's worth mentioning that Jean Guillemard used to say that the plane would be better with normal solid sheet ribs.

Ah, ok. Thanks, I'm not familiar with this. Maybe nothing here needs fixing then. The cropping at the top and bottom edges of the scans looks like a fault to me, but if all the details a builder needs are here, then I guess we are all good.

Notes

* Credit field

The Credit field in the Outerzone database is designed to recognise and credit the hard work done in scanning and digitally cleaning these vintage and old timer model aircraft plans to get them into a usable format. Currently, it is also used to credit people simply for uploading the plan to a forum on the internet. Which is not quite the same thing. This will change soon. Probably.

Scaling

This model plan (like all plans on Outerzone) is supposedly scaled correctly and supposedly will print out nicely at the right size. But that doesn't always happen. If you are about to start building a model plane using this free plan, you are strongly advised to check the scaling very, very carefully before cutting any balsa wood.
