About this Plan

Yard Bee. Radio control sport model. Wingspan 29 in, wing area 270 sq in.

Note as of 2024, a new kit of the Yard Bee (all laser-cut interlocking parts) is available from Andy Clancy Designs, see andyclancydesigns.com/store for full details. This here this is the old 1999 Yard Bee kit plan.

Direct submission to Outerzone.

Quote: "Hi there, I have one more plan for you and some photos of my build. This time Clancy aviation Yard Bee, a very easy and fast to build model but also tough and easy to fly having all Bee models characteristics because of its wing. It has a 29" span, 270 sq inches of wing area, and weighs from 6 to 12 oz...while it is again [a newer laser-cut version] available from Andy Clancy designs. I have built the standard version powered with a Cox .049 engine and a 50% bigger version with electic motor.

My build log on RCGroups is here: https://www.rcgroups.com/forums/showthread.php?2380484-Clancy-Aviation-Yard-Bee-150

Notes

* Credit field

The Credit field in the Outerzone database is designed to recognise and credit the hard work done in scanning and digitally cleaning these vintage and old timer model aircraft plans to get them into a usable format. Currently, it is also used to credit people simply for uploading the plan to a forum on the internet. Which is not quite the same thing. This will change soon. Probably.

Scaling

This model plan (like all plans on Outerzone) is supposedly scaled correctly and supposedly will print out nicely at the right size. But that doesn't always happen. If you are about to start building a model plane using this free plan, you are strongly advised to check the scaling very, very carefully before cutting any balsa wood.
