About this Plan
RESsource. Radio control thermal glider model. F3L class. Wingspan 2m.
Direct submission to Outerzone.
Quote: "Hi Mary, I present to you the plan of my F3L RESsource glider. The objective was to create a model that could be built by an inexperienced modeler, but which offered good performance, for a budget that remained reasonable. It can be laser cut using the attached DXF files, and freely edited using SVG files and Inkscape, which is free 2D software. The PDFs of the overall plan and the different parts allow 'old-fashioned' construction, without laser cutting.
Ecirtech, a French craftsman whose kits are renowned for their quality, cut mine, and can provide a short kit containing all the parts listed in the cutting file. For more details see https://www.ecirtech.fr/contact/
A .text format file [see: read_me.pdf] includes the translation into English, German, Spanish, and the French text of most of the plan indications.
RESsource flies very well, healthily thanks to its AG 35 to AG 38 profiles and its slight twisting of the exterior panel. Not being a film director, I cannot guarantee the high quality of my video, but it exists https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4qTJxdob4vY and the good weather will probably allow me to do better...
The carbon tube can be purchased from a specialist supplier, or collected as I did from a fishing store. When a fisherman breaks a carbon rod element that is under warranty, the store orders a repair set, replaces the broken element, and doesn't always know what to do with the rest. Maintaining a good relationship with the seller, explaining to him what we are doing, and whispering in his ear that this beautiful piece of carbon that he is going to throw away could well bring him around ten euros in cash, can provide a source irregular but cheap supply.
I hope that this plan will allow many modelers to discover the RES formula, with or without a competitive spirit. Sincerely"
Update 16/2/2024: Replaced this plan (and all files) with minor revision, thanks to GillesGaridel.

Notes
* Credit field
The Credit field in the Outerzone database is designed to recognise and credit the hard work done in scanning and digitally cleaning these vintage and old timer model aircraft plans to get them into a usable format. Currently, it is also used to credit people simply for uploading the plan to a forum on the internet. Which is not quite the same thing. This will change soon. Probably.
Scaling
This model plan (like all plans on Outerzone) is supposedly scaled correctly and supposedly will print out nicely at the right size. But that doesn't always happen. If you are about to start building a model plane using this free plan, you are strongly advised to check the scaling very, very carefully before cutting any balsa wood.
