About this Plan
NA P82B Twin Mustang. Free flight scale model for rubber power.
Direct submission to Outerzone.
Quote: "CA Newman plan set (NA P82B Twin Mustang - 52in WS) this appears to be scaled up from the original. I looks like that K. J. Wallace modified it in 1990 (the original plan dated 1987), I assume that he scaled it up and added some different wood sizes and specifications."

Did we get something wrong with these details about this plan (especially the datafile)?

ScaleType: This (oz15054) is a scale plan. Where possible we link scale plans to Wikipedia, using a text string called ScaleType.
If we got this right, you now have a couple of direct links (above) to 1. see the Wikipedia page, and 2. search Oz for more plans of this type. If we didn't, then see below.
Notes:
ScaleType is formed from the last part of the Wikipedia page address, which here is https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/North_American_F-82_Twin_Mustang
Wikipedia page addresses may well change over time.
For more obscure types, there currently will be no Wiki page found. We tag these cases as ScaleType = NotFound. These will change over time.
Corrections? Use the correction form to tell us the new/better ScaleType link we should be using. Thanks.

Dear Steve and Mary, Charlie Newman himself gave me the plan for his twin rubber Mustang [main pic]. He was the sole author. Yours,Richard Falconer - 20/01/2024
Thanks Richard. Have removed the KJ Wallace co-credit, for now. What is the wingspan of your plan? I'm wondering what changes were made with this version we have here.
SteveWMD - 20/01/2024
Dear Steve and Mary, Charlie’s original design has a 25.5 “ wingspan. Yours,

Ah ok, got it. Thanks. In that case over time I think we could aim to usefully split this here listing into two, one for the original and one for the later, enlarged and re-dimensioned, version.

Just to see a similar model; interesting adjusting explanation: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=h0s35pOILtI

Putting the co-credit to KJ Wallace back on this one, for now. It is a modified and distinctly different drawing from the original. The wing panels plug-in, for example, so this here is not a one-piece model.

I would love to get a ride in a P-82 Twin Mustang. I don't think that will happen, but this comes as close as I ever will.

Thanks for the bonus material/links, gents. I guess I never really thought about it before, but did not realize it (the full size version) has counter rotating props. Makes sense, though.
D A - 23/01/2024
DA, They had issues with the way they first set up the counter rotations of the props (both propellers would turn upward as they approached the center wing). In this configuration it couldn't get off the ground. Once the exchanged the engines and props it solved the problem. See the Wikipdia here:

Notes
* Credit field
The Credit field in the Outerzone database is designed to recognise and credit the hard work done in scanning and digitally cleaning these vintage and old timer model aircraft plans to get them into a usable format. Currently, it is also used to credit people simply for uploading the plan to a forum on the internet. Which is not quite the same thing. This will change soon. Probably.
Scaling
This model plan (like all plans on Outerzone) is supposedly scaled correctly and supposedly will print out nicely at the right size. But that doesn't always happen. If you are about to start building a model plane using this free plan, you are strongly advised to check the scaling very, very carefully before cutting any balsa wood.
