Daedalus (oz14997)
About this Plan
Daedalus. Radio control sailplane model. Wingspan 2330 mm.
Note plan shows optional power pod.
Quote (google translated): "General: With the models manufactured by Simprop, particular emphasis was placed on simple construction and good-natured flight characteristics. This resulted in a construction kit that we particularly recommend to beginners and young people. Thanks to the aerodynamically favorable shape and profile selection, with the Daedalus you have acquired an ideal glider - motor glider and slope glider. In terms of the good prefabrication and the completeness of the kit, the model is very quick and easy to build.
Instructions for the construction process: Numbering of the parts largely corresponds to the construction process. Before you begin, please study the M 1:1 construction plan, the construction instructions and the construction kit carefully. Use the breakdown (at the end of the construction description) to number the missing numbers on the corresponding parts. Now you can carefully press out all the punched parts from the boards (if necessary, cut them a little with the knife).
Required accessories: Flat building board (blockboard) 250 mm x 1200 mm, balsa knife, plane, fret saw, hand drill, 2 flat-nose pliers, side cutters, paper scissors, model building clamps, clothes pegs, sanding block, sandpaper coarse - medium - fine, pins, rubber rings and transparent film to cover the construction plan..."

Hey, I saw that you added recently the Daedalus from Simprop, oz14997. I built a brushless motor pylon for this glider. You can find in attachment the photo of the pylon and the glider with it [pics 008, 009]. I can provide the DXF file of the pylon and more photos. Let me know if you are interested,Aircraft47 - 21/12/2023
Nice classic glider by Simprop. We used to dump these off the piggyback glider tugs. Glides well for it's age. The moving tail hinge was a little vulnerable though. Too bad that the plan has a lot of creep, especially the fuselage.

* Credit field
The Credit field in the Outerzone database is designed to recognise and credit the hard work done in scanning and digitally cleaning these vintage and old timer model aircraft plans to get them into a usable format. Currently, it is also used to credit people simply for uploading the plan to a forum on the internet. Which is not quite the same thing. This will change soon. Probably.
Scaling
This model plan (like all plans on Outerzone) is supposedly scaled correctly and supposedly will print out nicely at the right size. But that doesn't always happen. If you are about to start building a model plane using this free plan, you are strongly advised to check the scaling very, very carefully before cutting any balsa wood.
