Without a doubt, this small, fully aerobatic model with a wingspan of only 1.20 m was one of the most noticed attractions at this year's Nuremberg trade fair.

The BONANZA is currently the smallest modular model with ailerons that are intended from the start and cannot be added later! Control is already possible from 3 channels via "across". On the other hand, this interesting construction can also handle telecont 5-channel, 8-channel and even digital systems with 4 servosl RC-I suitability as a result of the low cell weight of only 800 g sufficient mechanical strength. The extremely low weight is included. ENYA 15 III-RC motor and was achieved both structurally and through selected light balsa wood. With a device payload of 550 g (!), the total surface load is only 45 g/dm2. The foolproof flight behavior of the model is correspondingly balanced.

The power depends on the motor size (1.7 to 3.2 cm). With the ENYA 15 RC (2.5 cm), the compact aerobatic car that can be controlled on all axes is sufficiently motorized in most cases. If the rudder is not operated or is only operated coupled with the ailerons (eg when using the Digi 2 + 1), then a 0.9 motor is sufficient!

Full aerobatics are currently hardly possible easier, cheaper and safer than with the BONANZA. The purchase price is only a third, and the operating costs (fuel) can be estimated at only a fifth of conventional RC-I models. In addition, mainly because of the lower piston speed, small glow igniters are more durable than thick 10 cm9 engines, which would have to have several cylinders in order to achieve comparable stamina.

A further saving in time and material results from the greatly reduced construction effort of the small model, which, although not at all inclined towards 'narrow-gauge aerobatics', also requires less transport space.

The hull is very spacious in the usual belt-frame web construction and is planked with balsa that is only 1.5 mm thick. Consequently, a covering with Japanese silk (25 g/m2) is required. A covering of paper (21 g/m2) is also sufficient if, as my experiment showed, the inner side walls of the loading space are reinforced with 0.6 mm plywood, which also results in significant weight savings. After two or three coats of pore filler with intermediate strips, the covering paper, which also provides the color of the hull, is simply glued with Durit tension varnish. A coat of colorless fuel protection paint completes the finish.

The wing has a semi-symmetrical profile and a boxed pine spar with full nose planking. The end strip is coordinated with the ailerons and the ribs are provided with glue-ons. Even without covering, the surface is already completely torsionally rigid! Covering with silk is therefore unnecessary here, especially since silk stretches twice or three times as much as paper with the same tension coating. For the relatively small and thin surface of the BONANZA, this can spell disaster in the hands of the inexperienced..."
