Piper Cub (oz14860)
About this Plan
Piper Cub. Radio control scale model. For .25 to .40 engines.
Quote (google translated from the German): "The PIPER CUB is exemplary, easy to transport, robust in construction and easy to fly. These are the typical features of this model. These building instructions describe the construction of the model (in the version with ailerons) with the OS MAX 25 FP motor. The installation of the OS MAX 35 FP and OS MAX FS 40 motors is shown on the plan. The installation of all other engines must be carried out at your own discretion. All wooden parts required for the aileron design are included in the kit. A list of the additional parts required can be found on plan sheet 1.
The construction instructions are mostly kept in the order of the parts list numbering. The structure of the flight model is explained chronologically. The information summarized at the end of the construction instructions should provide some additional explanations.
All pre-cut wooden parts are carefully separated from the boards with a sharp balsa knife and then deburred. All parts must always be fitted or adjusted; various parts are oversized for adjustment. To assemble, use a flat, straight building board, e.g. order no. Use 503. Deviations from the listed order when building the model are to be made at your own discretion. Subsequent installation of the remote control or a change may be difficult or not possible.
Use construction instructions with illustrations, parts list, the selected motor as well as servos, receivers and batteries as constant aids during construction. The positions marked * on the plan and in the parts list are not included in the construction kit. They are included in the fitting set, order no. 585 included. Although the middle part of the fuselage is essentially finished, we still recommend examining the glue spots. If necessary, rework with white glue (HENKEL-Ponal-express, UHU-coll or similar). Sand cleanly with a sanding board.
If the OSMAX 25-FP motor is installed, a spacer (frame) must first be made from strip (8)! It is best to saw the individual parts to size and glue them directly to the engine frame (section A-A) with white glue or epoxy. Tighten with a screw clamp. For the 35 FP and FS 40 engines, the respective engine mount is mounted directly on the engine frame (appropriately underlaid)..."

ScaleType: This (oz14860) is a scale plan. Where possible we link scale plans to Wikipedia, using a text string called ScaleType.
If we got this right, you now have a couple of direct links (above) to 1. see the Wikipedia page, and 2. search Oz for more plans of this type. If we didn't, then see below.
Notes:
ScaleType is formed from the last part of the Wikipedia page address, which here is https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Piper_J-3_Cub
Wikipedia page addresses may well change over time.
For more obscure types, there currently will be no Wiki page found. We tag these cases as ScaleType = NotFound. These will change over time.
Corrections? Use the correction form to tell us the new/better ScaleType link we should be using. Thanks.

* Credit field
The Credit field in the Outerzone database is designed to recognise and credit the hard work done in scanning and digitally cleaning these vintage and old timer model aircraft plans to get them into a usable format. Currently, it is also used to credit people simply for uploading the plan to a forum on the internet. Which is not quite the same thing. This will change soon. Probably.
Scaling
This model plan (like all plans on Outerzone) is supposedly scaled correctly and supposedly will print out nicely at the right size. But that doesn't always happen. If you are about to start building a model plane using this free plan, you are strongly advised to check the scaling very, very carefully before cutting any balsa wood.
