Equilibrium (oz14774)
About this Plan
Equilibrium. P-30 duration rubber model.
A high performance P-30 that can be built without plans.
Quote: "EQUILIBRIUM frame construction. NO PLANS NEEDED.
Simplicity of construction makes EQUILIBRIUM a joy to build and experiment on. These are speed techniques that will make the work finish early. One of the aids is the use of two aluminum yard sticks.
Start with the FUSELAGE. On a flat table, lay a two by four feet sheet of acoustic board covered with the usual waxed paper. Secure one straight edge with pins and one 28-1/2 inch longeron. This is followed by the 'spacers' on both ends and the other 28-1/2 inch longeron pressed firmly by the second straight edge and pins. The diagonals are laid into the frame firmly pressed end to end, one diagonal after the other. It makes life easier if you can dab the thin cyanoacrylate (cya) glue for every 4 pieces to firm up the pieces in place. By the time you have dabbed cya on the last diagonal the first side is a few minutes from done. A 5 inch or so of .025 mw will detach the completed frame from the papered acoustic board. You now have one completed fuselage side. Lift it off..."

This looks like a quick to build and fun P-30 model. However, the lack of airfoils is a problem. While a person could probably figure out the six percent flat bottom stab airfoil, I did a Google search for the USA 22 wing airfoil and the closest I could come up with is USA 28, which is probably too thick.Simon Blake - 30/08/2023
Hi Steve, A second Google search turned up this PNG file of a USA 22 airfoil (pic 003). It seems a bit unusual for a P-30 airfoil, but it's thick enough to result in a fairly strong wing. I really enjoy Outerzone; keep up the good work! All the best,

* Credit field
The Credit field in the Outerzone database is designed to recognise and credit the hard work done in scanning and digitally cleaning these vintage and old timer model aircraft plans to get them into a usable format. Currently, it is also used to credit people simply for uploading the plan to a forum on the internet. Which is not quite the same thing. This will change soon. Probably.
Scaling
This model plan (like all plans on Outerzone) is supposedly scaled correctly and supposedly will print out nicely at the right size. But that doesn't always happen. If you are about to start building a model plane using this free plan, you are strongly advised to check the scaling very, very carefully before cutting any balsa wood.
