Quote: "Back when I was a kid back in Baltimore MD, I remember seeing this particular kit in a couple of the local hobby shops and I could only imagine getting one. Well, here it is, some 60-70 years later and I was given one by one of our club's members who had acquired it from someone else who had acquired it from someone who started it but stopped or gave up. Make sense so far! Well, I saw it as both a challenge and a childhood dream placed in my hands.
Began reviewing the kit and plans for the Sterling 'PETE' that I acquired a couple of weeks ago since nobody else wanted it! I set to work sanding and shaping the horizontal and vertical stabilizer assemblies since they were already glued together and looked okay, in general. Then I looked over the fuselage crutch, upper and lower blocks.
I see one of the difficulties I’ll be facing is replicating and replacing the center section of the wing spars since there are no full-sized plans or templates and from the looks of it, that may be a critical part for joining the fuselage and wing halves. At this moment, I believe I need to start assembly of the wings and then reverse engineer the center spars..."

ScaleType: This (oz14592) is a scale plan. Where possible we link scale plans to Wikipedia, using a text string called ScaleType.
If we got this right, you now have a couple of direct links (above) to 1. see the Wikipedia page, and 2. search Oz for more plans of this type. If we didn't, then see below.
Notes:
ScaleType is formed from the last part of the Wikipedia page address, which here is https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Howard_DGA-3
Wikipedia page addresses may well change over time.
For more obscure types, there currently will be no Wiki page found. We tag these cases as ScaleType = NotFound. These will change over time.
Corrections? Use the correction form to tell us the new/better ScaleType link we should be using. Thanks.

Greetings! I am the person who did the build log for this model and supplied the plan that you now have on your site. There was another gentleman who was kind enough to submit it as I an not very skilled with that type of thing. I just wanted to say that the model is now complete [pics 006-010] and if you need any additional photos, please feel free to let me know or at least refer to the build log now on RC Groups. Thank you for your support. Respectfully,

* Credit field
The Credit field in the Outerzone database is designed to recognise and credit the hard work done in scanning and digitally cleaning these vintage and old timer model aircraft plans to get them into a usable format. Currently, it is also used to credit people simply for uploading the plan to a forum on the internet. Which is not quite the same thing. This will change soon. Probably.
Scaling
This model plan (like all plans on Outerzone) is supposedly scaled correctly and supposedly will print out nicely at the right size. But that doesn't always happen. If you are about to start building a model plane using this free plan, you are strongly advised to check the scaling very, very carefully before cutting any balsa wood.
