Quote: "Follow These 12 Simple Steps: The Trail Blazer is a most unique model for a number of reasons. With slight adjustments, it will accommodate class A, B, or C engines; it can be constructed to conform with class II, III, IV, V or VI control-line competition; it is easy to build if you follow the dozen simple construction steps; it's an outstanding flyer and a consistent thriller.
1. First determine what engine you plan to install in your Trail Blazer then cut out plywood 'Backbone' (2) with coping caw. Cut out front section along lines that best accommodates your engine. Pieces (3) and (4) are your plywood wingtips, pieces marked MS are used as motor spaces if necessary, (see plan) they may be used to adjust engine propshaft to exact center of fuselage. Part (1) is fuselage tailpiece. The remaining pieces are for your landing gear housing, Finish Backbone (2) sanding to shape.
2. Trace backbone outline (5) on balsa fuselage bottom and cut out with coping saw. Be sure to save pieces (6) and (7)-which will be used in step #7 for rudder fairings.
3. Check side view of fuselage on plan and draw line (8) on side of fuselage block to conform. Be especially careful to make front and rear of fuselage correct depth.. Cut out with coping saw
4. Carve outside of fuselage to a semi-circular shape (see front view). Rout inside with a chisel, gouge, or similar tool. Make walls 3/16 in thick except in forward section shown in plan top view. Make 1/16 recess (10) to accommodate stabilizer (see side view). Notch out rear of stabilizer slot (11), to allow elevator E-1 to move freely (see side view). Notches (9) are cut out for control-line wires. Check side view for exact position..."

* Credit field
The Credit field in the Outerzone database is designed to recognise and credit the hard work done in scanning and digitally cleaning these vintage and old timer model aircraft plans to get them into a usable format. Currently, it is also used to credit people simply for uploading the plan to a forum on the internet. Which is not quite the same thing. This will change soon. Probably.
Scaling
This model plan (like all plans on Outerzone) is supposedly scaled correctly and supposedly will print out nicely at the right size. But that doesn't always happen. If you are about to start building a model plane using this free plan, you are strongly advised to check the scaling very, very carefully before cutting any balsa wood.
