Quote: "The fuselage construction for the Taylorcraft 15 is the conventional box or frame and former construction. This construction should present no problem if ordinary caution and plenty of time is used. Don't hurry the construction, the extremely good looking and exceptionally good flying model will be your reward.
To start construction cover the fuselage side view of the plans with waxed paper. Select the 3/32 square to be used for the longerons in the side frame. Soak the two base or bottom longerons in hot water for at least thirty minutes. This will faciliate making the sharp bend required to fair the nose of the fuselage.
Lay the main longerons over the frame as shown in fig. #1. Be sure to place the pins on the outside of the wood and not thru it. After the main longerons are in place insert the 3/32 square uprights in place. Be sure that the angle of the uprights match the angle of the longerons. Place the pins on the outside of these pieces as you did the longerons.
To facilitate and practically guarantee an accurate frame build the second frame or side directly over the one on the board. Do not remove the pins but place the longerons between these pins. Insert the uprights directly over those presently in place on the plan.
After both sides have been allowed to dry thoroughly, re-move them from the workboard and cut apart. Use a keen double edged razor to cut the sides apart. Only insert the razor at the point where the frames have been glued. Don't draw the razor blade through the full length of the frame.
Before starting to assemble the two sides check the top view of the plans and determine the widest point of the fuselage. Lay waxed paper over the plans at this point and pin the two sides down on the plans. Use a regular draftsmen's triangle to square up the sides to the work board. See fig. #3. After the sides are square insert the cross pieces at this point (the widest point, no other) allow the fuselage to dry completely and remove from workboard.
Draw both ends of the sides together end glue well. Use straight pins to hold the two ends together while drying. Now go to the extreme front of the fuselage and insert the cross pieces at this point. After these have dried you can insert the balance of the cross pieces to complete the fuselage frame.
Now cut out the printed former parts from the printed sheets. Glue all the formers in their respective places to be sure to have the formers setting at right angles to the fuselage frame. After the formers have dried completely insert the 1/16 square stringers. Check these stringers down the stations to make sure that they are in alignment and do not have any curves or bends..."

NotFound | help
This is a scale plan, but ScaleType is set as NotFound.
This happens when we can't find a relevant Wikipedia page to link to. Usually because the type in question is uncommon.
Corrections? Use the correction form to tell us the new ScaleType link we should be using. Thanks.

Notes
* Credit field
The Credit field in the Outerzone database is designed to recognise and credit the hard work done in scanning and digitally cleaning these vintage and old timer model aircraft plans to get them into a usable format. Currently, it is also used to credit people simply for uploading the plan to a forum on the internet. Which is not quite the same thing. This will change soon. Probably.
Scaling
This model plan (like all plans on Outerzone) is supposedly scaled correctly and supposedly will print out nicely at the right size. But that doesn't always happen. If you are about to start building a model plane using this free plan, you are strongly advised to check the scaling very, very carefully before cutting any balsa wood.
