Quote (google-translated from the German): "The model of the World Champion. Supra Fly 2500, by Hanno Prettner.

You can actually fly the Supra Fly with any reliable 4-function remote control. The use of a 'computer system' still makes sense. This allows the model to be set up quickly and optimally, and the almost unlimited possibilities for varying the rudder deflection, mixing and programming have great advantages for aerobatics. They don't make it any easier, but they allow it the pilot to concentrate more on the actual, clean control of the individual figures

Based on the excellent flight characteristics of my F3A model EZ-Supra Fly 60, with which I was able to win the world championship, I decided to build a version that was approx. 20% larger. The basic idea was to construct an all-round model that gets by with a minimum of technical frills and can be used both for aerotow and for leisurely Sunday flying.

Thanks to the optimum profile selection, the landing speed could be kept extremely slow, and equipped with a 20 cc two- or four-stroke engine, this Supra Fly 2500 is simply ideal for relaxing flying or for training or getting started with the various aerobatic figures. But there is no upper limit to the 'high performance' of this model, because I fly my Supra Fly 2500 with a Super Tigre S 3000 engine with tuned pipe. It drives the 18 x 10 prop to about 8,000 rpm, and that's it. I have so much power at my disposal that I can perform vertical climbs to the limit of visibility. But even beautiful circular knife-edge loops are no longer witchcraft and an experienced pilot can do knife-edge figure eights and knife-edge circles almost by themselves Figures of the RCI-X program (especially the roll circle) are really good and easy to fly, since the wing loading of the Supra Fly 2500 is very low.

The flight weight can be kept below 6 kg without any problems, and that is especially important for the show pilot. With a powerful motor, fantastic 'extremely flat tumbles' (helicopter spins) succeed, whereby the model rotates on the spot and moves downwards with only a very small loss of altitude. But also the somersault or rollover created by me from the horizontal flight at full Speed always impresses the spectators, but my 'barrier circle' also looks spectacular; the Supra Fly 2500 flies a circle with the right rudder fully deflected, with a diameter of approx 50 m you can let the Supra Fly rise or fall in the 'chain flight circle'. Of course, that looks quite spectacular, because you really want to believe that the model is flying on invisible ropes.

The basic construction concept of this model is also deliberately kept simple, and certain standard parts are used to further reduce build time. The bonnet and the two wheel spats are made of unbreakable and lightweight plastic and are available in white, red and dark blue. These three parts and also the steerable rear landing gear are original parts of the EZ-Diabolo 904, the canopy comes from my Supra Fly 60, also sold by EZ, so that the finished parts can be obtained from specialist dealers.

Building instructions: I assume that the Supra Fly 2500 will be tackled by model builders who already have enough experience. So I limit myself in the building instructions to the essential sections in the form of tips and short references. The construction plan is kept simple and clear, so that it can be read without difficulty. A parts list is not necessary because the various materials and thicknesses are written directly on the component. The Supra Fly 2500 is strong enough in terms of strength and it would be wrong to add any reinforcements. These would only increase the weight unnecessarily. The basic rule is, even small model aircraft: the lighter the construction, the better the flight characteristics.

Construction of the fuselage: First, the two front fuselage side panels are cut out of 4 mm soft plywood (aeroply, poplar, lime tree) and joined to the rear 4 mm balsa side panels..."

* Credit field

The Credit field in the Outerzone database is designed to recognise and credit the hard work done in scanning and digitally cleaning these vintage and old timer model aircraft plans to get them into a usable format. Currently, it is also used to credit people simply for uploading the plan to a forum on the internet. Which is not quite the same thing. This will change soon. Probably.

Scaling

This model plan (like all plans on Outerzone) is supposedly scaled correctly and supposedly will print out nicely at the right size. But that doesn't always happen. If you are about to start building a model plane using this free plan, you are strongly advised to check the scaling very, very carefully before cutting any balsa wood.
