About this Plan

Dazzler. Control line stunt model. Wingspan 56 in, wing area 650 sq in.

Quote: "Dazzler control line aerobatic competition model.

The fuselage consists of two 3mm balsa sides, reinforced on the inside between sections A-A up to the middle of the one between EE and FF. These sides are joined by a series of frames, the first three of which are made of 3 mm plywood, and the rest of balsa of the same thickness; the fuselage is closed from above and below by balsa blocks rounded on the outside and hollowed out on the inside between the spaces corresponding to the frames.

The .40 engine sits in position on 12 x 8mm beech slats, that serve as a bench and support for a 4-ounce aerobatic tank, easily interchangeable between sections AA and CC. The engine is faired with air inlet on the left side and outlet on the right.

The wing is cut from foam, with a leading edge of 12 x 3 mm, and an incomplete stringer cut from 3mm plywood. The veneer is made with 0.8 mm balsa. The flap hinge edge is 3 x 9mm balsa, and the flaps are carved from 9mm balsa. of thickness. With good technique the inside of the wing foam can be perforated. The articulation of the flaps is done by means of R/C type hinges.

The tail planes are cut and profiled in 9mm raft, and are articulated with R/C type hinges. Rudder, balsa of 4 mm, is fixed with a marked deviation to the right.

The landing gear, made of 3 mm piano wire, is fixed to a plywood plate located under the spars of the bench below the implantation of the wing, and have the legs covered with an aluminum fairing. The tailwheel is mounted on a long 1.5mm piano wire leg.

The displacement of the flaps will be 45ยบ in each direction; the same for the elevator."

Notes

* Credit field

The Credit field in the Outerzone database is designed to recognise and credit the hard work done in scanning and digitally cleaning these vintage and old timer model aircraft plans to get them into a usable format. Currently, it is also used to credit people simply for uploading the plan to a forum on the internet. Which is not quite the same thing. This will change soon. Probably.

Scaling

This model plan (like all plans on Outerzone) is supposedly scaled correctly and supposedly will print out nicely at the right size. But that doesn't always happen. If you are about to start building a model plane using this free plan, you are strongly advised to check the scaling very, very carefully before cutting any balsa wood.
