About this Plan

Mini E. Free flight model for electric power with Ferrel Enterprise .007 motor.

Direct submission to Outerzone.

Quote: "Dear Mary & Steve, Please find attached a scan of a poor copy of my built-on plan of Don Srull's Mini-E design from the late 1980's. I'm not sure but it was probably published somewhere (in the USA)... My copy was enlarged 122% so the plan is too big [fixed now] as I built a VL HY-70 electric powered version in June 1990 and it was a great flyer. In closing, you might want to compare this design with the 1996 Tee Nee Sportster (oz14206). Adrian"

HiLine, when it was operated by Dave & Marie Rees, sold a plan for the "Mini-E" which was ostensibly the same model, but with a span of 24" and a wing area of 105sq.ins. If it's like the other FF electric models in the series - the smaller "Micro-E" and the larger "Imp Sport", it should have a longer nose. It was supposed to be designed for the HiLine "Mini-6" geared electric motor, which is not mentioned on the plan shown on Outerzone. I am after the plan for the Rees 24" span version. Does anyone have one?

Dear Mary & Steve, The Mini-E [main pic, 007, 008] enlarged a bit to 22" wingspan and powered by a VL HY-70 and 2x50 mAhr NiCd cells. AUW is 52g, of which motor & battery account for 28g. Flew without any trim adjustments. Got up to half-charge today for some great flights. Yes, it's 10 Celsius and sunny in Ottawa!

Notes

* Credit field

The Credit field in the Outerzone database is designed to recognise and credit the hard work done in scanning and digitally cleaning these vintage and old timer model aircraft plans to get them into a usable format. Currently, it is also used to credit people simply for uploading the plan to a forum on the internet. Which is not quite the same thing. This will change soon. Probably.

Scaling

This model plan (like all plans on Outerzone) is supposedly scaled correctly and supposedly will print out nicely at the right size. But that doesn't always happen. If you are about to start building a model plane using this free plan, you are strongly advised to check the scaling very, very carefully before cutting any balsa wood.
