True airplane story: the Camel is named after the English fighter of the First World War! It was 1937-1938 JS Sproule, together with his partner A Ivanoff designed a wooden construction glider conventional, called the Camel. An incredible story imagine the same nowadays: "do they design a glider? yes but in what scale? no real one that we fly there!

For ease of transport and assembly, it was designed with folding wings, hinged from the rear spar, allowing the wings to lay flat on the sides of the fuselage. you put it on a tow truck of a car and go flying.

The aircraft was built in 1939 by Scott Light Aircraft Ltd, in Dunstable and was to be a one-off. The first flight took place at Dunstable and, although flight tests have been completed, a navigability certificate has never been issued. so they flew illegally?

After the first tows it was decided to increase the tailplane area. The camel continued in service until 19 August 1951 when it crashed following a mid-air collision incident with an Olympia on Dunstable Downs."
