About this Plan
Technicoll SE1. Free flight A/1 glider model. Wingspan 922 mm
Direct submission to Outerzone.
Note this plan is large filesize, due to inclusion of all the dithered build pics, at 400 dpi. See alternate supplement for a copy of same plan but with build pics removed, a much smaller file.
Note the instructions file includes a parts ID sheet that shows the rib template, at reduced scale.
Update 20/8/2026: Added parts in Lightburn and DXF format, thanks to StanislavJanak.

There is also a modified version of the ribs, for using a 5mm carbon tube instead of the leading edge and 5x1mm carbon strips as the center spar. Thanks to this, the wing can withstand rougher impacts in the hands of children without major damage [pic 012]. A balanced assembly with a modified version of the wing weighs about 105g ( 3.6oz). I had to put about 21g ( 0.74oz) of weight in the nose for a beautiful smooth flight. The CG comes out about 1.5cm further back than the original.
I still have a RC version of the fuselage in the RESopenS style with micro servos in the process of being developed, but it is still in the drawing plan stage.
Enjoy the build, it fits together beautifully.

Hello Mary and Steve, here are three fotos [pics 009-011] of my Technicoll SE1, maiden flight on march 29th. Our "Modellsport-Club Oldenburg-Edewecht e.V.." (http://www.mcoe.de) youth group is building some SE1's to take part in the next regional youth contest.

Notes
* Credit field
The Credit field in the Outerzone database is designed to recognise and credit the hard work done in scanning and digitally cleaning these vintage and old timer model aircraft plans to get them into a usable format. Currently, it is also used to credit people simply for uploading the plan to a forum on the internet. Which is not quite the same thing. This will change soon. Probably.
Scaling
This model plan (like all plans on Outerzone) is supposedly scaled correctly and supposedly will print out nicely at the right size. But that doesn't always happen. If you are about to start building a model plane using this free plan, you are strongly advised to check the scaling very, very carefully before cutting any balsa wood.
