Scientific Imperial. Free flight towline glider model. Wingspan 72 in.

Quote: "Hello Steve and Mary, I located another old Scientific kit, which you don't have yet on Outerzone. The plans were in really bad shape, and the more I moved them to add some tape, the worse it became! I did get them scanned, and found most of the pieces, for templates. I think 8 parts are missing, but between the side views, isometric assembly drawings and the adjacent components, it shouldn't be a problem to resolve [see update below].
This 72" Imperial looks great! Will make a nice FF or R/C, as pure sailplane or with some power added. I found several really great articles on the AMA site, regarding Scientific Models, including John Frisoli, Ben Shereshaw, and Walt Musciano's amazing stories. But I didn't find any specific history on the Imperial, except the plan date of 1944. Ah, the good ol days! So if any other old timers know more about this model, please fill in the blanks. And to Outerzone... You have one amazing library of model plans! Thank you so much for all the efforts. It will be interesting to see, if the plans can be cleaned up some, like the Olympic submission. What a difference!

Notes
* Credit field
The Credit field in the Outerzone database is designed to recognise and credit the hard work done in scanning and digitally cleaning these vintage and old timer model aircraft plans to get them into a usable format. Currently, it is also used to credit people simply for uploading the plan to a forum on the internet. Which is not quite the same thing. This will change soon. Probably.
Scaling
This model plan (like all plans on Outerzone) is supposedly scaled correctly and supposedly will print out nicely at the right size. But that doesn't always happen. If you are about to start building a model plane using this free plan, you are strongly advised to check the scaling very, very carefully before cutting any balsa wood.
