ScaleType: This (oz14097) is a scale plan. Where possible we link scale plans to Wikipedia, using a text string called ScaleType.
If we got this right, you now have a couple of direct links (above) to 1. see the Wikipedia page, and 2. search Oz for more plans of this type. If we didn't, then see below.
Notes:
ScaleType is formed from the last part of the Wikipedia page address, which here is https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Payne_Knight_Twister
Wikipedia page addresses may well change over time.
For more obscure types, there currently will be no Wiki page found. We tag these cases as ScaleType = NotFound. These will change over time.

I know someone will come up with the author of this beautiful enigma. Jim Triggs did the underlying 3-view, which I somehow happen to have in one of my electronic trash heaps. There's a whole branch of archaeology dedicated to the trash and worse heaps! My usual 'research' method is called "Saw It, Caught It!", which isn't too conducent to clear documentation ;)Miguel - 28/09/2022
That was fast. Thanks to Pit, we will credit Carl Schmaedig for this one.

Fantastic, I knew it wouldn't take long! This design saw the light in 1928, who would believe Knight Twisters have been built for almost one hundred years, so far!?

I'm surprised Hal Swanson is not given credit for this model. He was "Modernistic Models." It looks like his unique logo (dark jet silhouette) has been edited out of the lower right corner of the plan, where he typically put the title block. A quick look at the other "Modernistic Models" plans offered on OZ will reveal his "style".

Although the Knight Twister was designed by Vernon Payne in 1928, first flight occurred in 1932. I believe this plan represents N2747A a KT-85 Sabler Special built in 1957. It's still on the FAA registry and has a valid certificate, although no current airworthiness certificate is listed. Knight Twisters have been a favorite of mine for 78 years. My dad, who had a hobby shop, in a small town south of Chicago, built a control line Schroder Twister
(oz457) in 1944/45. Somewhere, I have a photo taken at the flying field that looks identical to the one on the plans. In my opinion the Schroder and Stabler Twisters are the best looking of all. I'd love to build this one as an ERC at a 30-inch span, but life is not cooperating. Thanks for all you do with this site.

Steve... I think that Pit might have gotten the information for this plan, specifically the designer, from the AMA plans search engine. If so, the credited designer might be wrong. Right now the AMA Plans site has a "bug" in which almost all of the plans you search show "Carl Schmaedig" as the designer. I think there might be a better a much more probable chance that the designer might be Hal Swanson, as D A says.

OK, I'll buy that. Setting this to show designer as Hal Swanson, for now.

Notes
* Credit field
The Credit field in the Outerzone database is designed to recognise and credit the hard work done in scanning and digitally cleaning these vintage and old timer model aircraft plans to get them into a usable format. Currently, it is also used to credit people simply for uploading the plan to a forum on the internet. Which is not quite the same thing. This will change soon. Probably.
Scaling
This model plan (like all plans on Outerzone) is supposedly scaled correctly and supposedly will print out nicely at the right size. But that doesn't always happen. If you are about to start building a model plane using this free plan, you are strongly advised to check the scaling very, very carefully before cutting any balsa wood.
